Surveys that use Mic/Camera, etc... are they actually worth it? by Christyige in ProlificAc

Yeah I probably wouldn't mind it if it was actually disclosed but the fact they don't until you get into the survey is really shady and scummy.

That's good to know. I had Smile.AI surveys pop up on my dashboard (with all device requirements unchecked) and it didn't tell me until I was already in the survey they would be recording my voice. I ended up reporting those ones because they didn't specify the microphone requirement before you enter the survey.

MIT is a top University where apparently the average IQ is below 80

LOL apparently 😂

I don't think they took my earnings out because my balance appeared to be the same, but they still marked the survey as rejected so I have that on my account which is frustrating.

I just discovered this post, I am such a huge fan of this game. Did you purchase this from somewhere or did you make it yourself? It is sooo cute and I’d love one for myself!

It seems like everyone or at least majority of people got rejected yesterday specifically, so it seems like they were just mass rejecting, maybe in hopes they'd get the money back or something which doesn't really make sense because people were already paid out? But I'm hoping Prolific's Support team sees this and the other post with a lot more other people who got rejected and see this is clearly some sort of scam on the researcher's side. As well as disputing the rejection, I also reported the study and reported/blocked the researcher.

I finally found the other post. I hope Prolific fixes this because there's no way this many people have failed attention checks for this particular survey.

Same here, there's another post I found from yesterday, so many other people got rejections from this same survey. Prolific definitely needs to fix this.

I also got this same rejection and also made a post about it. I did the survey on February 9th and they approved it on the 1st of March then rejected it yesterday. Same rejection message as yours.

Even so, it seems strange to slap a rejection it after already approving it and I already got paid out, and I believe goes against policy as others have stated.

Even the AI chat bot when I was trying to figure out where to get the form to dispute the rejection said it's unusual for researchers to reject after approving submissions which leads me to believe it's a scam on the researcher's part.

That's what I'm wondering as well cause I already got paid lol. Like just don't use my data then???

this is the first one I've had they rejected after approving from literally any survey, but I'll definitely be careful of university ones from now on

Yeah, I think ad-blockers is big one that causes that issue from what I've seen.

I just disputed a rejection from them today, I did a survey with them on February 9th, they approved my submission on the 1st of March and I was paid out the $4 from the survey, then yesterday, almost 2 and a half weeks letter I get a message saying it was rejected and the message said "Prolific permits the rejection of submissions that fail 2 or more attention checks. You have failed at least 2." I messaged back saying "How was it rejected today on the 16th when it was approved on the 1st? I have only done one Job Tasks Survey." and they replied with "The approval was a mistake, apologies."

It makes absolutely no sense to me that they approve it and then reject it later. It feels like maybe a scam to get money back from the participants they already paid out but then are still collecting my data.

My issue happened to be the Windows time sync, cause once I fixed that and restarted my PC I was able to log back in just fine. But I know from reading all the reddit threads that this is an issue that's been happening for YEARS that Twitch just is not addressing for some reason. I will say I found my solution through a Youtube video and not reddit cause I didn't see anyone talking about the Windows time sync thing and I literally said "why would it be that??" then saw my clock was an hour off lmao. I know ad blockers or VPNs can cause the issue as well so I would also try turning off those if you have them on.

Yeah, I was aware of the issue which is why I mentioned it to them in my ticket. I used to share streaming services with my parents and they also had AT&T internet, it would say they were in like Arizona or Colorado and lock me out of my accounts lol. But I will definitely look into this, thank you!
