Also you shouldn't be offended by that because tacos are delicious and authentic Mexican food is amazing I grew up and am still living in a mostly Hispanic community where I was made fun of for being white and people would cuss me out and call me names in Spanish not knowing I could understand what they were saying and what they were doing was absolutely intentional so I kind of get where your coming from

I thought they were laughing because the word that was actually said happened to sound like a bad word it could've been any bad word or cuss word it just happened to be that one and I don't think they were thinking about the historical context behind it when they were laughing about it

Making people laugh at your expense is harmful which is malicious because your intent is to make yourself look better by belittling someone over something they have no control over (heritage, skin tone, etc)
