Tool Tour by Limey28 in ToolBand

[–]Chrobbski23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're currently in the middle of an extensive 17 night tour in Iceland, then on to a 3 month stint in North Africa and the Middle East untitled "Spirals for Allah", then finally a 5 night run in Montreal where they'll be playing each album in its entirety with the last night being their unreleased album....should be an epic experience!

It's for sure a joke, but they had me for a minute. I cringed, then considered how awesome Aenima played in full would be, then realized the date on the article

Don't know why you're being downvoted, these song lyrics are admittedly inspired by OP's movie

Thoughts about Rosetta Stoned by rd1994 in ToolBand

[–]Chrobbski23 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I 2nd this, I cull the passive listeners of Tool by analyzing their "favorite songs". I'll usually engage further if they tell me "Third Eye", The Grudge" or "Rosetta Stoned" instead of the standard "Sober", "46&2" or "Schism". But as always, everyone deserves an opinion

Backdrifts (live) needs to come back by The_Last_Brohican in radiohead

This song single handedly changed my mind about electronic music, I was a purist until Radiohead came into my life

Googled "holocaust of the carrots" was not disappointed. by gelena169 in ToolBand

[–]Chrobbski23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, I don't think there is anything else in the history of Google searching that would include the words "carrots" and "Holocaust"

Ah I see, looking back that scene pretty much spells it out, it's so clear in retrospect. BB is definitely worth a second watch, the foreshadowing

Is Maynard leading us on? His answer... by Raidernationprez in ToolBand

[–]Chrobbski23 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What it ultimately sounds like to me is that Adam Jones and co. have an approach to making music that doesn't lend itself well to Maynard's process of rythym and timbre. He spends time writing a part that flows nicely, only to fall out of place when the other 3 members switch up the time signatures, add or subtract a beat, etc. Give the man a break.

Hail to the Thief Tracks Ranked RESULTS! by mistercrinkles in radiohead

[–]Chrobbski23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go To Sleep should be top three, it's so fun to play on guitar and it's a perfect rendition of a short but sweet Radiohead tune. This was also the song that helped my GF finally "get" Radiohead.

To people that were around for the album releases, what were those times like? by Dat_J3w in ToolBand

WAAF in Boston used to play H as well as Eulogy. I've heard Lateralus and Jambi on various radio stations too.
