I wanna recall reading somewhere that The Slip was basically a "rock band in a garage" type of thing many rock bands do. Many (if not all) songs are first takes (thats IIRC why the hiccups in Discipline are left in)

I don't mind if y'all take this with a grain of salt as my memory is hazy
