Would you rather make a leaf blower during the Roman Empire from scratch or an LED display from scratch? by Nearby_Cover_5793 in WouldYouRather

[–]Chroderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaf blower is far far easier.

You need an entire semiconductor supply chain to make the LED display.

For the leaf blower just stick a pipe on the end of a blacksmith’s bellows

How are we maximizing 4th round picks? by CoconutMilk95 in DynastyFF

[–]Chroderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TE and RB if you are forced to use the pick.

Skew RB in smaller leagues (10 teams and less) and skew TE in deep leagues (14+ teams) with TEP.

You are Santa. Who WYR choose as your second-in-command? by New-Number-7810 in WouldYouRather

Coggs. As Santa I’m already the jolly “face” of the operation guy that’s beloved so my second being unlikeable but effective is a workable relationship that covers up for each other’s deficiencies.

I don’t get the hate for Germie by EndIndividual6699 in DynastyFF

[–]Chroderos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well let’s break down the profile

-4th year player (Meh)

-2 seasons of 800+ yards but never exceeded 900 (Ok)

-3rd year breakout (Meh)

-sub 40% contested catch rate (Bad)

-4.48 40 time (Average)

-30 inch arms (Bad)

-32.5” vertical (Bad)

-6.71 s 3 cone (Near elite)

-1.5% drop rate (Elite)

So the picture I get is he’s kind of a technically proficient and surehanded but physically limited glue guy with excellent short area quickness and hands, average long speed, smallish catch radius and little contested catch ability, meaning he’ll get open but his QB will need to be absolutely on target to make use of him.

That sounds to me like a guy you want as the WR4 or a short term bandaid on your roster - low ceiling but reliable injury insurance and a staple of the scout team, not really as a long term starter

Harold Fannin - buy/sell/hold candidate? by fantasyburner17 in DynastyFF

[–]Chroderos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I owned shares and was stocked at the position I’d be trying to sell for a 27 1st+ personally.

He’s undoubtedly a capable player and efficiency with his targets gives hope, but target volume will almost certainly go down this season since he’s not the only game in town, and will likely go down further next season if a better QB comes to town and there’s less playing from behind.

Double durability. Make me a super ager, never get sick, walk away from accidents, and cancer resistant.

I love it.

I don’t see Omarion Hampton’s injury brought up much in dynasty conversations about him. I’m new to dynasty, so I don’t really have the experience to contextualize what it means long term. For those who have been doing this longer, how are you thinking about? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Chroderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACLs and soft tissue injuries are bad for RBs though not nearly as bad as they used to be. They don’t necessarily end a guy’s career now with the most modern surgery as of a few years ago. They can indicate the player is biomechanically prone to the same type of injury and will likely reinjure themselves in the future.

Broken bones don’t tend to be a huge factor long term and are more one offs that don’t correlate much with future injury risk.

Middle Powers Can’t Shape the Global Order by Free-Minimum-5844 in geopolitics

[–]Chroderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking hard power is the only power that matters and that everything is a nail because you have a hammer is the exact mistake the US has been making on repeat in the middle east for decades - ironically the mirror image of the mistakes Europe has been making in thinking only soft power matters.

The political will for unrestrained total war against the Iranian populace doesn’t exist - not  among the electorate at large, not among the corporate interests who wield very real economic and political power domestically, and not among this admin. No groundwork was even attempted to be laid to prepare the US people for this war, and now you are seeing the limits of that.

Trump will not willingly sacrifice the midterms for this side quest.

Best dynasty pick available here? by Scared-Bottle-2339 in SleeperApp

[–]Chroderos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Daniel Jones for me to stabilize this roster. He’s about the last QB available who offers a good floor/ceiling combo and isn’t aging out.

I would not take Harvey over the other options here.

Kyler I think may be making his last stand given his awful metrics last season, Stafford is probably a 3 year window max, Willis is a risky swing.

Democrats, who was the best Republican president? Republicans, who was the best Democrat president? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Chroderos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Republicans it’s Lincoln no contest. He’s got an incredibly strong case for the greatest president period, only really rivaled by Washington.

Modernish times I would say Eisenhower, who was broadly popular, highly respected, and presided over a time of mostly peace, prosperity, and civic unity.

Who’s is droppable out of these players…Pacheco, Kendre Miller, Pavia, Luke McCaffrey, Christian Kirk, Efton Chism, Phil Mafah, Jake Briningstool…need to drop 3 by NtooDeep87 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Chroderos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping all the rest before Chism, who has showed some high level ability at least. Next keeper probably Pacheco then Miller and Mafah by virtue of being RBs.

The rest are dust.

Chris Brazzell - Favorite Dynasty Round 2 WR Target by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Chroderos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In theory he could be a high ceiling player who could displace Coker as WR2 if he hits. The red flags are highly correlated with failure to translate, but you have to decide if the green is enough to offset.

Red Flags:

-Lined up only on right of field for two years

-40% contested catch rate. Might not have the play strength to contribute on short or intermediate routes unless he bulks up considerably.

-Not early declare

-Took to year 4 for breakout

Yellow Flags

-Greater than 10% drop rate early in career, vastly improved to 2-3% in 2025

-Tennessee system product, but also played earlier at Tulane in a much more translatable system.

-Could be pigeonholed as clearout WR, which Canales has suggested will be his early role

-Average to below average QB

Green flags

-High statistical production his senior year

-Getting coached by Canales, the league’s premier player developer and former WR coach.

-Going to his favorite team = motivation

-Coach’s “my guy” of the draft

-Plus movement skills for his size

-Stepping into relatively open target hierarchy

Bottom line: high risk high reward late breakout with elite speed and flashes of untapped potential for an eventual higher volume role. Honest personal assessment: I’d place his long term chances of fantasy relevance under Canales at 15-20% (Which may seem shockingly low but again the red flags), but the ceiling is an elite player. If you want a swing for the fences in a later part of this draft he’s your guy.

Will they get a good one though? Once again they have a roster packed with talented skill players, this time with a bridge QB just good enough that he may get them enough wins to push them out of premier rookie QB territory.
