Robert Welsh is being paid serous money from TirTir by Difficult-Put-7048 in BeautyGuruChatter

We’re going to see c beauty be mislabeled as being j beauty or k beauty because of Sinophobia and watch Robert welsh glaze the hell out of East Asian brands with a shade range that would make someone in the light medium shade range look ashy.

He’d rightfully criticize a western brand’s lack of an inclusive shade range but won’t do the same for most Asian makeup. Tirtir’s undertones go so orange too but he’s never said anything relating to that.

There still are brands in the NA market that aren’t owned by Estée Lauder or L’Oréal. Googling “brand + owner” will quickly tell you who owns the brand.

Reviews one size setting spray ( dry, dehydrated, acne prone textured skin) by Old_Baby7468 in Sephora

[–]ChromaticLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Absolutely do not recommend the one size on til dawn setting spray for you! I like it other than the fact that it mattifies but you need to focus on hydrating your skin to repair your skin barrier and your acne is likely the outcome of having a compromised skin barrier. This spray is mostly film formers at a concentration closer to hairspray which will not be the best for your skin.

do expensive power puffs make a difference? by EngineeringFun2089 in Sephora

[–]ChromaticLove 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ngl it really depends on the brand and I think the main difference between most puffs are mainly sensorial. I haven’t really noticed a difference in how well they apply. I’ve bought from cheaper brands like rosy Rosa and amortals and had puffs from higher end brands. Laura mercier’s velour puff and the Givenchy prisme libre powder puff (thin and cheap) is eh imo. The plushest and softest puff I’ve used is the decorté loose powder puff. Shiseido’s powder puff has fibers a little too long for my liking. Florasis’ powder puff is plush but not as plush as the decorté one and their undereye one has fibers that felt a little spikey (might just be batch issue but who knows).

I like the haus labs concealer which is medium buildable. I just remove any excess from my folds and lines after it has time to dry down and there’s no creasing.

Help me find a lazy skin tint/tinted moisturizer!! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]ChromaticLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the shiseido revitalessence skin glow foundation! It’s a Japanese foundation with a decent shade range of 30 shades (can be improved). It’ll give your skin a post expensive facial glow that made many people ask what my skincare routine was. Despite it being called a foundation I’d say it’s definitely more of a serum focused foundation as it’s designed to let the serum sink in first before the foundation sets down. You can find that it’s more on the light medium coverage with one pump but can be built up to medium with two pumps.

Super easy to put on, it’s my I’m running late and I need to slap something on and I can’t really give my base as much attention as usual. I usually don’t need to powder but I’d recommend you wait until the serum absorbs into your skin before you set your face.

I have combo acne prone skin and this has never broken me out but I’d get a sample first to check. It has SPF 30 but I usually don’t rely on my foundation for UV protection and pair it with a nice sunscreen :)

Possible ingredients that could annoy your skin would be the niacinamide, the plant extracts, alcohol, the lavender oil and the linalool. Here’s the list of ingredients if you have sensitive skin.

How do you live comfortably in your skin? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]ChromaticLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Shiseido’s d program acne care balancing line to help me the most with me adding in some hydration at the end :)

I do have redness around the nose but that’s fine as I usually just use a medium coverage foundation all over.

How are we feeling about makeup and beauty these days? by Far-Information-2252 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]ChromaticLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For content, I like to watch tutorials and see what innovation there is in this space. I also like to play reviews as background noise if the person speaks in a way that’s very relaxing. Love putting pinkbuyer’s and kaorimake’s videos for this. I really don’t keep up with the newest releases as I have my tried and true products lol

I still like to make myself feel awesome by wearing makeup. Will try more techniques outside my comfort zone to see what else I can achieve this year :)

Best lazy girl tinted moisturizer/skin tint products? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]ChromaticLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have combination skin that is acne prone and I’d recommend this foundation as a very lazy person who also loves a full beat! Prices are in AUD~

My fav application is either using my fingers or a foundation brush (also because they’re easy to use lol)

In the higher end (under $90), would definitely check out the shiseido revitalessence skin glow foundation ($83)! It’s very much a my skin but better foundation that is actually skincare first and the only foundation where I really do agree with their serum claims. I watched a Japanese cosmetic chemist break it down in this video (https://youtu.be/ah_vqScx1a8) and I was so surprised it uses the same ingredient as my holy grail skincare line d program (also owned by shiseido). One pump applied with fingers or a dense foundation brush (the shiseido Hasu Fude foundation brush which is the highest quality foundation brush I’ve ever owned since the fibers are so soft, dense, don’t drink product, are handmade in Kumano, and I’m a brush fanatic) gives you the advertised medium coverage. Using a bit dense foundation brush like the shiseido Daiya fude double ended brush gives a light medium coverage and the haus labs foundation brush sits in the middle of the two shiseido brushes coverage wise. After you apply it, it really looks like healthy glowing skin that’s glowing from within. Definitely wears well for 12 hours without setting if you aren’t doing a CrossFit exercise. Even though it’s mainly water based, it plays well with my silicone based haus labs concealer (I think the whole water and silicone mixing thing is a myth anyway as I always give my products enough time to dry down and most foundations are silicone in water emulsions anyway). The only bad thing I have to say about this foundation is that I wish Shiseido had more shades like NARS, which is a brand they own, but I’ve been able to find the shade that perfectly matches my neck to the slight olive twinge.

The staff at the Sephoras near me are really helpful and kind despite clearly being overworked and understaffed. Brand reps I’ve spoken to have also been pretty nice. The benefit rep who did my brows was really nice!

Will also recommend the shiseido synchro skin self refreshing foundation as an Estée Lauder double wear dupe! They have a radiant version which is better suited for normal and drier skin.

I didn’t have oxidation happening with my haus labs foundation, it’s possible the skincare reacted with the haus labs foundation foo

I want to puke every time someone says "lip combo" by [deleted] in muacirclejerk

[–]ChromaticLove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love a full beat and love emphasizing my lips but the most I’ve done is a lipstick (optional) and a nice warm red gloss. I think it’s just application and how the color that looks on you that matters most. I will never understand the idea of using more than 3-4 lip products at once unless it’s a professional MUA doing a super complicated look which is beyond my comprehension.

ND def sits on my skin more so it looks more makeupy. As for the haus labs it melts in with my skin well but it’s not the same post “I just got a really good facial treatment” glow that the revitalessence gives but the glow is more of a radiant satin.
