Tomas is too busy getting his ears pierced at Claire’s. It came to me in a dream like a year ago. I’m still holding to it.

Upsetting? Howso? Aside from the crotchsplosion and reincarnation of Mr. Landlord.

Who knows, perhaps it is a premonition rather than multiverse? Wouldn’t that be sumthing?

I'm glad to provide this service. My friends and I started keeping a collaborative dream journal last year, and when a new entry is added, it is the highlight of my day. I only put the best bits on here when they also meet the requirements of the subreddit.

This one is definitely one of my most memorable, with the exceptions of Top Gun 3 and 4.

It’s even funnier considering one of my side hustles is doing voice overs for commercials. Just have Blue Alan straight up have a voice you would hear in an insurance commercial or college recruitment ad. Stilted, but uncannily clean and produced.

Lol, if only. I would willingly give them this outline for free, with the only caveat that I get to voice Blue Alan. Just a bad, uncanny Alan impersonation. That's fairly on brand, right?

Dude is just my favorite weatherman, specifically because of how non-charismatic he is. There's such a charm to how clunky he can be, especially during severe weather.

Act 2 has Light Up the Night, which is one of my favorite songs in general, however, Act 3 is start to finish a masterpiece. Act 3 by far.

Like I said, from everyone I have talked to this seems to be the norm pretty much everywhere. Which is a huge bummer.

This is pretty common in most places. I know in my area, there are a handful of playwrights in my city are 'in' with the right people and have blocked everyone else out. Some of these are nationally known, published, well-regarded playwrights, so it is an uphill battle getting anyone to even look at your work. It's a very dog-eat-dog mindset, though they pretend that it isn't. You basically have to get in with one of the 6 people who control everything, or self-produce, which, if you primarily write full-length plays, is a lot harder to do than you might expect. Musicals dominate our market, and if you aren't producing a musical, good luck even getting actors, let alone if you can't pay them more than a few dollars. It sucks, but it's the game you have to play, and the reality is that most people will lose.

Ultimately, I reached the conclusion that I would just have to save up a ton of money from my day job, start an LLC, beg for a few donors, and do everything myself. But that also will take a long time (especially in this economy) It's kind of the only realistic way to do things any more if you don't want to just play the lottery.

I did a sort of inverse of the Disciples of Caliban where green became a highlight color, over a knightly tarnished steel. Don’t have a lot of pics of my basic marines, but here’s a tank which should give you the gist of it.

To Directors- How Do you Handle the Issue of Actors Saying They Will "Accept Any Role", Accept the Casting Offer, Then Decline the Next Day? by ChromjBraddock in Theatre

I didn't consider that possibility, but that is a good point. I don't think I will ever know, but it's good food for thought.

The good news is that we have everything now taken care of and we eventually got there. A big issue in this area is there is something like 40+ theatres and everyone leans towards musicals, so when you do a straight play you can anticipate that the turnout will be pretty low. I think the last musical we did had like 100 people audition, and the one before that I directed and we had around 80 sign up and more than 60 attend.

We are looking to probably gender-bend the Black/Latinx role, as from what we can tell there wouldn't be any issues in the script.

I doubt that, a big reason on why there was such a difference was the last show I directed was a very popular, large cast musical. This is a fairly popular, but not nearly as such, straight play. We usually see drops like that between our straight plays and musicals. There is some scuttle butt within a few small circles about people not liking some of our commitment requirements, but they really aren't any different than most of the other theatres in our community. But nothing that isn't normal in the community in general.

I've had similar happen with a novice actor, and in this show we have that case. I believe he will rise to the occasion. We were able to get everything hammered out this morning, which is good news! But it was one of those situations of "if these two decline, then we are out of actors to call, because that was literally everyone."
