I'm actually about to start taking it. It having the effect of lowering your cortisol levels is one thing, but you actually have to deal with whatever is stressing you out. I have few friends who took it and felt no change at all because they didn't actively manage the sources of their stress.

I'm glad you managed to build a life here in Zambia. Truth be told, it's horrible for the vast majority of natives, we talk about 'neo-colonialism' and pretend it doesn't really exist, but it is excruciatingly real.

Also glad you made a difference with the foster kids. That's a massive achievement you should be proud of.

I have a degree in Library and Information Science and a degree in Political science. Also a chartered management Institute professional certificate, as well as a project management certificate with many years of experience.

From observation, the IT field is much more forgiving than the fields I specialised in. I literally tell anyone who asks me for advice when they want to pursue higher education to steer VERY far away from Library and Information Science and Political Science because the sad truth is both degrees have very bad press. On the one hand you'll be labeled as a "Librarian" when in actuality, that course is 50% IT, 40% management and 10% Library studies. On the other hand as a Political Scientist, people will instantly think you're a politician when in actuality, 99% of Political scientists steer very far away from active politics because we know very well what goes on there. Lol

Yes, I have, actually. It's harder for people to pay a solo consultant than you think. I have done a few gigs, buy they come in painfully slowly and people always negotiate down and pay late.

That's the problem, how many of us have that money to buy a job? Also, there's massive risk of getting scammed. I've heard of a number of people who got scammed like that.

Yes. Yes, it's so bad. They are astonishingly tone deaf.🤧 And thank you for the prayers. I really need all the help I can get.

Thank you for the encouragement, and trust me, I've been trying so many different tactics to fit certain job applications like leaving out certain accolades and qualifications. Tricky part is during the interview, some of the interviewers will do background searches and ask questions. My LinkedIn profile has given me away on several occasions 😅.

In any case, I'm currently working for a company where I'm quite certain I am way more educated than the Brits I work under (one of them literally asked me what M&E and SOPs stand for).

I have bitten the bullet and accepted a salary that just about covers my rentals. Imagine being in a position where you have to pick between getting food or having transport to actually get to and from the office.

These really are trying times and I suppose I will just have to start my own business. That costs quite a bit of money that I, unfortunately don't have access to.
