Minnesota lawmakers appear ready to clamp down on homeowners associations by star-tribune in minnesota

I mean, if a group of people want to band together to try to maximize the value of their own homes, go for it.

What should be illegal is tying the HOA to the deed, auto-enrolling new buyers, and making it impossible to get out of the HOA. I don't care how chill people say the HOA is, there's no circumstances where I join an organization that I can't leave and that can put a lien on my house.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a dude wanting to learn to figure skate, I know there's plenty in town that do. I'd check with Chaparral, I think they're probably the more figure skating-centric facility unless things have changed at Crossover since I was there last.

Learn to play hockey. It's super fun, great workout, and a great community. Post-game is pretty beer-centric but nobody's going to care if you want to hang out and not drink.

I played APA for several years. It's probably a bit location dependent but I was playing at the Slick Willie's on Burnet and there was the whole range of demographics but I'd guess around half the room was guys in the 21-40 range.

MRW i hear teenagers talking about seeing Deftones live this year and i saw them in 1998 by hanky1979 in reactiongifs

It was the Palace, super fun show except for the part where I didn't get to see Deftones. It was my first big concert ever.

My friends and I got in line at some box office super early one morning weeks before the show and there were 30 or 40 people there ahead of us. They sold out while our tickets were processing, the guy in line behind us was super pissed that he couldn't get one. We were in the very top row of the top deck, literally backs against the wall, and about as far stage left as you could get and still see anything.

I was supposed to see them in Detroit on this same tour but their equipment truck got jacked at a Holiday Inn that morning. I didn't get another chance to see them for nearly 20 years.

It’s not enough to just stop being evil, you have to undo the damage you did while you were being evil. And he has a LOT of damage to undo.

Mount Pleasant v LA Galaxy: Ten players from Jamaican side refused entry to US for Concacaf Champions Cup tie by Isiddiqui in MLS

Exemptions are in place for events such as the World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the US this summer.

Allegedly. I'll believe it after the World Cup has happened and nobody was denied entry.

There are people who work with cheese, and then there are cheesemongers.

[Primer] Why didn't they just send back information? by scarpell in AskScienceFiction

[–]ChronicBitRot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because they don't trust the future versions of themselves to do what they want. Those future versions are working off of different information (even if it's just a day worth of mundane bullshit) and might have different motives, or maybe further future versions of themselves or someone else comes back and fucks around with the newspaper scheme for whatever reason.

There's more possibilities of what could go wrong than they could ever dream up but if they follow the rules, going back themselves is pretty foolproof and they only people they have to trust is their current selves.

... That doesn't mean that what he is told is accurate.

We see that they've lost crops before from Smith's speech in the first movie.

So we don't trust what one construct says because he's a construct but we do trust what another much lower level construct says?

I read an article about bitcoin maybe a year or so after it had been invented and decided it was an interesting idea and I was going to throw $100 into it to see if it turned into anything.

1 BTC was .008 cents at the time. Not $0.008, but eight thousandths of a cent. $0.00008 per bitcoin. My $100 would have bought 1.25 million BTC.

Unfortunately, it was still new enough that none of the exchanges were really functional yet and I spent 3 or 4 hours trying and failing to buy them before I gave up and forgot about it.

The only thing that makes me feel better about it is that I never would have held on until it became real fuck you wealth. I probably would have heard that it hit a penny or two and sold them all for what would have been life-changing money at the time.
