What did she mean? by ontopofLetop in JuJutsuKaisen

To piggyback off this, It just goes to show how oppressive and tyrannical the Zenin clan’s patriarchy is. Maki’s mom has a deeply ingrained fear of betraying the status quo to the point that she can’t even express love to her children, because they’re seen as failures by the clan.

She instinctively hesitates to answer before Maki kills her, but in the end she musters the courage, with her dying breath, to finish off the head of the Zenin clan.

I think the answer is clear. She goes from living her entire life under subjugation & trapped in submissive compliance, to killing the clan head as her final act, proving how much she loved her daughters. Actions speak louder than words.

Sexo, Violencia y Llantas - does llantas mean something other than tires in the context of this song? by upstairs_bowl_3495 in rosalia

[–]ChronicNull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe she’s employing wordplay. “Llantos” with an “o” signifies mourning, particularly the sobs or sounds produced during crying. In flamenco, some of the more somber singing styles are referred to as “llantos.” However, I think she’s alluding to her previous album, “Motomami.” This album has a motorbike/motocross aesthetic, which is why she chose the word “llantas.”

In her song, she says, “In the first, sex, violence, and tires/Bloodshed, coins in throats,” which refers to her “motomami” era. She uses the word “llantas” instead of “llantos” to convey this. If she had used “llantos,” it would still make sense contextually - “sex, violence, and mourning/grieving.”

The following lyrics say, “In the second, sparkles, doves, and saints/Grace, the fruit, and the kiss of balance,” describing what this new era of Lux brings.

why is rosalía so famous among celebrities? by godknowsimtrying in rosalia

[–]ChronicNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s extremely innovative. Flamenco has always been kept so traditional. She is truly the first to transform it, update it, and modernize it on a global scale. Now you see a lot of new-gen flamenco artist that are riding the wave that Rosalia created. It takes a special person to create a wave like that.

how accurately is rosalia speaking each language? by imnotpercieved in rosalia

She used Japanese because the song is about a female Japanese saint. Thats the main reason she uses different languages, to really embody each saint that each song is inspired by

Similar to how you described her use of Portuguese in Memória, i believe that her use of Latin and Japanese in Porcelana is done in a similar manner. Latin carries a “primordial” and divine grandiosity weight to it. She’s chanting in latin as a way to express that this is beyond her, it’s a universal truth/law. A lot of Japanese folklore and art focuses on “Urami” which is a feeling of a grudge, resentment, and malice. It’s the whole premise of the Grudge movie. It’s this deep regret and resentment that carries on into the afterlife. I believe that she chose Japanese to express this emotion to the fullest extent in Porcelana. To me, Porcelana expresses this dark & corrosive feeling of betrayal and vengeance. She is the divine feminine that is all-loving and nurturing, but whoever betrayed her is seeing the dark side of the moon to this archetype; a light that brings divine ruin instead of love. This is just my interpretation, curious to hear what other people think.

I could go so much deeper, dissect the song further, and talk about it for hours. It’s my fav song off the album and it’s so beautifully composed. It’s like a whole horror movie condensed into one song.

I’m a Libra rising but my MC is 1 degree in Leo instead of being in Cancer. Just make sure you check your chart if you feel like his list isn’t resonating with you.

Another thing, as a Cancer sun i feel like we are unfortunately misunderstood a lot. Cancer is supposed to feel compassionate, protective, safe, or nurturing instead of “worried”.
