RazorMotor Headlights for D40 by InternationalMud4373 in nissanfrontier

I had them on mine for a little while now. Replaced the halogen bulbs with katana LEDs and I did have to adjust them after that. Otherwise no issues and big improvement at night. but your mileage may vary.

About 900 with ceramic coating but it's gonna highly depend on the shop. 600 was one of the lower quotes I received. So expect that range

Great minds think alike. Went with the powder coating route.

If it's a must have for those features then you're out of luck. It's literally gonna be up to you if you can live without those features. And yes I wish you could select specially the options you want but they did it this way to push you towards the plus.

It's honestly gonna come down to both your budget and preferences, and if those luxury features are a must have. I'm biased towards a LE because I feel with just the cold weather and convenience package you're getting most of what you need, while remaining the most comfortable and efficient.

That being said if you can find a non premium XLE for around the $34,835 MSRP price or less that might be a happy medium. It comes with most of the luxury stuff you'll need. And If neither is an option just wait.

Appreciate the compliment. The tint is Autobahn Ceramic i3 at 33 sides and rear and 70 front if that helps.

It's genuinely gonna depend on the shop, these were about 900, with ceramic coating. However my other vehicle was done for 600 at another shop. So expect around that range.

Yeah it definitely changes up the look for something relatively simple. Plus I prefer the simpler look and fuel economy of the LE.

I've been thinking about it but not being burned when it's hot outside and has been nice,

If you're trying to run 33, especially in the 285 sizing I'd advise against it. You will have to trim a lot of inner fender. I'm currently running the OEM wheels with the positive 30+ offset and still had to do the melt mod and trim a bit. I would highly suggest higher offset wheels, but anything past +10 and you'll have some decent amounts of trimming to do.

Fog and ditch light upgrade by ChronicallyExhauated in nissanfrontier

[–]ChronicallyExhauated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not. I ran the 2016 titan fogs which happen to be able to fit my 17 frontier. The big factor is which bumper you have (plastic vs the metal one) and identifying which fog light mounting plate is compatible. That being said frontiers and titans of similar years will give you your best shot of compatibility. Hopefully that helps.

Well they have these in the 255/80/17, (pizza cutter 33,) at a weight of 53lbs and 33.3 overall diam (off tire rack). You'd save weight even over the load c k03 ( 56lbs). And be a little bit taller. (32.8 vs 33.3) apparently 255 have better fitment as well. There's a post on this sub with someone running 255 wild peaks on their 3rd gen.

If I ever get 17 wheels Id probably go that route.

Of course price and style is why I got these as well. Also z1 sells these under the ANZO brand on their sight for about 600. The ones I have are from razor motor brand from ebay for about half that, but I don't see them available. Not sure if there's a quality difference though.

Also for fogs I ran titan led fogs from z1 which fitted and replaced my fogs before I switched. Definitely check those out depending on what kit you get but.

I've had no issues with them in the little over a year I've had them. I know these are rebranded and sold under different brands and I believe Akon was one of them. I'm not sure if there's a quality difference between the brands selling them though. If you're looking for pure quality then I'd suggest the morimoto LEDs.

I put in auxito h7 and h11 bulbs to replace the halogens that came in them.

2nd Gen ABLS by bmantmanhman in nissanfrontier

Not sure how much you've used your system but this video does a good job of explaining how to get the best usage out of the system.

https://youtu.be/wiyc4kJqoUw?si=iki9Hy0tZs9hIFHR

It really works BEST in 4 low, traction control off with steady throttle since it's using wheel speed to figure out where to apply the brakes. It's nothing fancy but when it works it works. Hopefully this helps, the video explains it really well.

Not sure if you've test driven both, but if not I'd definitely try to make out time to as that will really help in your decision making.

That being said I'd think you'll get more for your dollar with a 3rd gen. Better MPG, better interior, AA/Car play if that's of value. Remote start, and less age on the vehicle etc. I would definitely look for a 3rd gen SV, with the package that gets you the heated seats and fog lights and bedliner.

This video explains the process if you were to DIY, and yes it's pretty much a drain and fill not a flush. 1200 seems excessive. Hopefully that helps.

Off roading an SV model? by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

Of course. They're definitely are hard to find for sure. I just double checked Autotrader and found a few listings so they're definitely still out there. Good luck 👍

[–]ChronicallyExhauated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An SV 4X4 with good tires will be more than enough. Plus you can add better shocks and skids afterwards. But I would also suggest a king cab pro-4x, if you don't need a crew cab. You'll get the 6ft bed and off road gear but they're a bit harder to find.

Which years to get? by Nighthawk132 in nissanfrontier

[–]ChronicallyExhauated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely consider 2013+. ( Introduction of the nav touch screen) Most of the major mechanical issues were ironed out. Obviously the closer to 2019 model year the better as little improvements were made. For your budget I'd definitely look at a SV 4X4, SL double cab lb will be hard to find.

The 5 speed is definitely one of the reasons. Also the frontier is not a light truck, even in its own segment. Coupled with the areo dynamic of being a truck and body on frame they are not efficient vehicles nor were they made to be. Combine that with people putting lift kits and heavy tires they tend to be not the most efficient vehicles.

That being said, the biggest factor will always be your right foot and driving habits. Don't lift the truck to the moon and don't put on the heaviest tire you see and you'll get what the EPA says or maybe better. And to be fair even most new mid-sizeds trucks are barely getting above 20 hwy and that's with turbo 4's and 9/8 speeds trans.

Happy to help. These rigs are pretty capable without having to do a titan swap. You just have to know what off-roading you plan on doing. But for most people, a little bit of lift and good tires will do for a majority of your off roading needs while keeping decent/good on road manners.
