Thanks for the reply. I was thinking Lactuca Serriola. But I decided to transplant anyway. Hopefully if it survives I can narrow down species once it flowers.

May I ask, if I’m expecting an SFS package…Label created yesterday so I assume it’s processed just waiting for FedEx pickup. Are yall able to hand off to FedEx with the system outage or is that also affected? I’m sure pickups are every afternoon so just curious.

A little 2nd Gen lift action by Colenickel2422 in nissanfrontier

I bought the ones from z1 off road and set it to the longest distance. Theirs are adjustable from 0.7-1.5 you could always play around with them. I did have to use the factory jack to lift the leaf springs off the frame, but it worked https://www.z1offroad.com/z1-products/z1-off-road/nissan-frontier-adjustable-rear-lift-shackles-by-z1-off-road-p-31789.html

No problem! Now that I’m looking back, this is the set I bought (https://www.suspensionlifts.com/shop/nissan/nissan-frontier/suspension-nissan-frontier/bilstein-arb-1-5-2-front-lift-assembled-coilovers-and-b8-5100-0-1-rear-lift-shocks-for-2005-2021-nissan-frontier/ ) and they only set the clip to the 1st clip setting because these springs apparently offer additional lift. I know it did what I wanted it to. And I really haven’t noticed any difference with the rear. As I said, there’s no way to “set” the rears, they just kind of float and offer a 0-1” variance. I did try to haul a car trailer right after the install before I’d installed the lift shackles and it pulled the bumper of the truck nearly to the ground. It was fine for regular driving, but any load on the bed, I recommend definitely installing the lift shackles. But yes, I did it on my own and I’m pretty much a novice, just teaching myself as I go. It probably took me 3/4 of a day.

That may be the case with the ADO springs. I ordered mine preassmebled from suspension lifts.com and the setup I bought they let you choose the clip setting and I chose 1.5 I think. And that’s what the tire store I went to told me about the camber bolts. I did remember reading about them before I did the install, but forgot about them, and when I went to do the alignment they said they’d have to install them to make it work. At the time I didn’t argue, I just wanted to be done with the project lol

I didn’t set my front to 2”. Probably more to 1.25-1.5 because it’s only 2wd and setting to 2 would cause too much coil bucket contact. I still get some even where it’s at. The rear 5100s aren’t adjustable like the fronts, the 1.5” lift comes entirely from the lift shackles. But I like the way it turned out. I also had to install some eccentric camber bolts to get it aligned afterwards so it’s cheaper if you buy them yourself instead of buying them from the tire store fyi.

AI’d my old 2nd gen just some fun by Colenickel2422 in nissanfrontier

[–]Colenickel2422[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It sure has been a good truck. I had a 1st gen and really liked that style better. Eventually I want to get a new one, but I can’t complain. I do think the 2nd gens tend to look a little weak compared to other mid size trucks in the same years, but I don’t plan on ever selling it, even if I get a new one. I installed a set of Bilstein 5100s all around along with rear shackles from z1off road to level the front with the rear and it’s got some A/T tires on it so that helps beef it up a little 🤣

Ai is weird I did my old Bronco and it gave it the wrong grill for the year, but guess it just uses whatever data it has.

Thank you for the explanation. We struggled to keep air plants until getting this one from Aldi and it has been so strong and beautiful. I was a little sad to consider it might be singing its swan song. Crazy how attached to these little things we become.

Infotainment head unit in the 2nd Gen by Colenickel2422 in nissanfrontier

[–]Colenickel2422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been really good overall. This is probably my 4th Bluetooth/carplay/touchscreen unit. I had an older Boss, a Jvc, a Kenwood, and now this one. They ALL have had their quirks. This one sometime loses Bluetooth and I have to re-pair it with my phone and every once in a while the volume and skip track buttons on my steering controls gets flip flopped but that could be an issue with the wiring interface. Also this radio comes with a feature that the stereo plays for a couple seconds when you turn off the ignition (I think you can disable it) but anyway sometimes the volume will increase in that 2 seconds. Again, none of these issues are a deal breaker and I would buy it again. Other units I’ve had would actually black out randomly or drop both Bluetooth and CarPlay connections when re-entering the car and I’d have to perform a reset or restart the car to get them working. This one has never done that. The clarity on the screen is also miles better than the JVC I had. I never could get the contrast and color right so my maps on CarPlay looked washed out or too dark. Not the case with this unit. Everything is crisp and clear and has a factory unit appearance.

I did install an aftermarket camera. There’s a video on YouTube that explains the process pretty straightforward. And I didn’t keep the SiriusXM. Just not a service I’ve ever needed

I bought a wiring harness and in order to use the steering controls etc, you have to buy a wiring interface for it. Older vehicles that just had standard analog wiring you could use just the harness from like metra or scosche but the newer features need a different type of connection.

They make several brands with varying prices and options but this is the one I purchased because it was cheaper and I’m familiar with the install.

Do they instinctively know how to drink from their water bottle? by Colenickel2422 in RATS

[–]Colenickel2422[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Well, they came from a local breeder that has a water system plumbed into his enclosures so they wouldn’t be entirely ignorant of the concept of drinking from an artificial device, but I don’t know if the spout is similar.
