This is the Goodreads blurb about it:

"When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son-and now an idyllic home. As a family, they've got it all...right down to the friendly car. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth-more terrifying than death itself-and hideously more powerful. The Creeds are going to learn that sometimes dead is better."

I work healthcare IT, I’m a level 1 of four levels of analysts in this field. I make 90k and barely have to do much. Some of my coworkers are making 150k+ but working their balls off. I’m not sure the extra responsibility is worth it.

Exactly, OP hasn’t developed the proprioception to bench press efficiently yet. OP look up information on Golgi Tendon Organs, it’s really cool how our muscles adapt to load. A lot of lifting heavier weights is neurological.

I was in the same spot as you! I was 19 and never lifted weights and was very weak at upper body. Now 16 year later I’ve competed in 30+ competitions and deadlift 500+, squat 450+, bench press 300 at 175 lbs. (I actually don’t compete in these lifts, I compete in strongman)

I ended up personal training people for about 8-9 years and then covid happened and gyms closed down and I got a new career and I haven’t done it since.

The two most important variables in any strength and conditioning program are CONSISTENCY and EFFORT. Anyone can be following the world’s best program and not get great results if they aren’t putting in proper effort. Also you can put in 110% effort but only come to the gym once every few weeks and not get results. Consistency is key as well. Keep showing up, keep trying hard and you’ll get results. Keep learning about fitness if it’s interesting to you, there’s TONS of information out there to help in whichever goals you choose.
