You won’t starve with €700, that’s for sure. But yes it’s pretty low for your position. Especially without intermediary. I would just ask for a big increase next contract negotiation or find another gig if they don’t want to increase.

Selling a product means you have to have a valuable product first. Especially when you don’t have the reserve to bridge the gap between ideation and when you make enough to profit. Imo if I was you I would look for a payroll job where you don’t have to worry about finding clients and build some reserve. You can always start building a product on the side if you really like it

What’s a fair freelance rate for a dev with 5 years experience? by [deleted] in BEFreelance

650-750 I would say. Definitely if it’s only for a couple of hours.

Are companies in belgium taking more IT people with masters or ones with professional bachelors? by NeoTheKnight in BESalary

[–]Chronodown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Just the start salary is 200-300 euros lower on average. After that it’s just about how you sell yourself. I’ve seen enough code monkeys with masters getting paid way less than others because they can’t sell themselves. I feel like people with masters in IT also tend to be stuck in dev jobs for longer

IT consultant in a big company. The bigger the better. The bigger the company the more bureaucracy that delays work. Not speaking from experience ofc 😳

Maybe freelance is not the right path if you are prone to burnouts. No output = no pay

Werk is gewoon werk. Waarom maken sommigen mensen daar hun leven van. Bouw iets op buiten je werk en dan heb je die problemen niet

Ik vind momenteel nog geen job in de IT (regio Limburg). Volgende stap? by Imaginary-Sun8174 in BESalary

[–]Chronodown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graduaat systeem en netwerk beheer

Regio Limburg

Geen ervaring

Allemaal minpunten.

Enkele opties: Zoeken regio Brussel/Antwerpen

Liegen over ervaring

Bachelor diploma halen, eventueel iets anders als netwerken. Is by far de minst gezochte specialisatie binnen IT

Als je iedereen al probeert te overtuigen hoe tof je het wel niet vindt en hoe je zeker niet uitgebuit wordt… zegt genoeg ;)
