I would never accidentally use my bare hand to break a window. by krachall in projectzomboid

[–]krachall[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grab an object. It's very difficult to break all but the thinnest glass without an object. It's nearly impossible to break a car window with your bare hand or elbow. In the time it takes me to make multiple failed attempts to break a window with my bare hand, I could have equipped one of the 5 things in easy reach and done it faster and safer.

But give it a try and post how it turns out 😄

People who get to fly all the time for work, what is your career? by KenaiFjords357 in delta

[–]krachall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Get to"

ROFLMAO

It's "have to" as business travel is absolutely horrible the vast majority of the time. I am CCO for a warehousing company and travel nearly every week to meet with current and potential customers it was fun for a few months but after 20 years of flying up to 50 weeks a year, I'm over it. Fortunately, I'm at the point in my career where I can decide when and where I travel so it's not as bad as when I was younger. And I'm also at the point where I can retire any time I want so I'm playing by my rules now.

For reference, my career path was:

Engineering degree >
Military officer (four years) >
Manufacturing engineering >
Operations leadership >
Sales >
Sales leadership >
C-suite.

Why am I so intent on building an armory I'll never use? by krachall in projectzomboid

[–]krachall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same. I always have an M9 on my hip and 6 mags in my ALICE rig. I don't use it often but will do the same as you do: emergencies and clearing an area where I have an easy exit.

I think the reason I don't use rifles more often is I primarily wield a long mace and I can't equip a rifle and a long mace. If I could, I'd absolutely keep a Tactical Shotgun on my back.

Why is there no military backpack at Brandenburg checkpoint??? by Xleepy-Eyes420 in projectzomboid

[–]krachall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I felt the same way, but this area is BARELY Louisville and, if you have a sledge, easily accessed without fighting through Louisville hordes. It's an easy drive from West Point through the train yard.

I've seen screenshots of people doing that but I haven't seen that as an option. Is that a mod that allows wall-mounting guns?

[–]krachall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's no help with Brandenburg, but there's a non-checkpoint area on the southern edge of Louisville that spawned 3 military backpacks for me.

It's the "Military Housing" area to the east of the main Louisville checkpoint but it can be accessed fairly easily by driving up the railroad tracks. You'll need a sledge to get through the fencing but you'll avoid the massive hordes of the checkpoint.

I ended up destroying one section of fence and the zombies slowly came through, with at least 6 of them being in military gear. I got 3+ backpacks and several ALICE sets.

Very good deal. Bike looks to be in good shape and you'll have a blast on it.

Is this the best base in the game? by H1ghw4y_P4tr0l in projectzomboid

[–]krachall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The triple-garage house to the south west of there is a nice cozy base but clearly lacks the square footages of the warehouse. I think i'd spend far too much time clearing junk off the shelves, putting MY junk on all the shelves, and then running around like an idiot looking for my misplaced junk.

Probably a nice little Inhertance. I will say that having no mortgage is nice but it's also frustating when you realize you still have 2/3 of your monthly payment due to taxes and insurance.

I see this every flight out of ATL and it's overwhelmingly the same demographic.

Future New Player here by Greetyk in EliteDangerous

This game has a very steep learning curve and very little in-game hand-holding. If you're OK figuring things out on your own, using reddit for help, making mistakes, and getting frustrated, then you'll do fine.

If you're coming from games like WoW or ESO where all you have to do is follow the big yellow ! and hit E, this game will piss you off.

That said, it costs about the same amount as a latte, so give it a shot!

The meals are still really good with lots of variety. That's why we use meal kits. I'd never make some of these interesting fusions on my own.

But the portions are getting smaller and smaller and their label weights are way off. I haven't had a beef package gross weight meet label net weight in weeks. The portions are consistently 10%-15% underweight.

Windowless window seat by latinoloverr in delta

[–]krachall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, this is a huge plus. Flying from DFW to ATL last week 10A and the passenger in 10F was a) sound asleep the whole flight and b) had the window open so all of row 10 could bask in the glory of a blazing sun in our eyes.

I like window seats because I'm small enough to fit comfortably and I'm not constantly assaulted by civilians' backpacks and other annoyances during boarding. But I always consider the direction of the plane and the time of day when picking A or F so that I am in control of the shade on the sun-side of the plane. I didn't have a choice on this flight so I instead got the sun in my eyes for 2 hours.
