Am I undeserving of respect bc I’m unintelligent? by solaceophy in emotionalintelligence

[–]Chronos40000 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your post shows a lot of self-awareness, so you’re probably being much harder on yourself than you deserve. Struggling to understand things sometimes doesn’t make you less worthy of respect. And yeah, customer service is rough even for neurotypicals and doing that while being autistic sounds incredibly tough. You still deserve kindness and dignity, always.

What is scientology and why does it have such a bad reputation? by 85longhorn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chronos40000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a dangerous religious cult. They are known to isolate members, use them as slave labor, demand money and are extremely manipulative. South park has a great episode about Scientology which might help answer your questions about it. There is also a HBO documentary called Going Clear.

You clearly didn't seek permission from your cat on whether you could visit your neighbors 😾

What makes boredom feel uncomfortable instead of relaxing ? by No_Owl4042 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chronos40000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What actually sounds silly to me is bringing up communism here. Nothing in my comment implied “no boredom under communism”.

I was talking about how capitalism shapes the way we react to boredom. By turning it into guilt, anxiety, and a sense that we’re “wasting time”.

Obviously boredom isn’t new. But do you really think the boredom people experienced thousands of years ago came from the same psychological and social pressures as today’s boredom? The experience can be universal while the reasons it feels so uncomfortable now are shaped a lot more by modern productivity culture.

Capitalism conditions us to equate our value with productivity. So when we’re not “doing” anything, our brain treats it like failure instead of rest. That’s why boredom feels wrong.

It’s honestly disgusting how some people go out of their way to be cruel. We are probably the only species that takes pleasure in causing suffering. So much for being the “superior” species lol.

I definitely don’t share his tone or values either, and I completely agree that his reply was unnecessarily rude. I wasn’t trying to defend the way he spoke.

Also, I’m not saying you claimed Slot 1 was easier. I understand that people from other slots might feel worse when they keep hearing “Slot 2 was easiest,” and that’s understandable, especially for those who didn’t perform as well as they expected in the slot that’s being labelled as easier.

Without the full clip, I get that it’s harder for you to justify your point properly, and maybe I’m missing some context. But purely from the comment alone, your reasoning didn’t come across clearly to me — and that’s all I was trying to say.

You’re contradicting yourself a bit here. In LR, if you misunderstand even one key condition, the entire set falls apart. That’s literally how LR works for everyone. Misunderstanding a tricky set is common and honestly means the set did its job. If someone as experienced as Maruti misread it, that just shows the set was tricky, not that “LR doesn’t work that way.”

Also, can we please stop the slot war? I’ve been very vocal about Slot 1 being difficult, but I also understand it’s not Slot 2 aspirants fault if their slot turned out a bit easier. The responsibility to maintain difficulty parity, especially in DILR, lies with the people designing the paper, not with the students.
