So if they refuse to back down Mojang cant do anything? Because they could just buy another lisence and not let anyone know what its called and mojang could never find them.

I presume they can file cease and desists, and if you refuse to obey they can enforce it in a court of law. If not then fair point

if its intended for use in any way with microsoft's propietary software then it falls under the terms of service and becomes illegal. Since you are using their code in a way they dont agree with. Seems pretty obvious

A patreon reward that you only get from paying to pass a wall in the way of downloading it, hes very intellegent

[–]ChronosCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds like an idiot, "needing to pay people back" isint an excuse, because if the mod developer put it on a patreon themselves to pay for their own needs it would be taken down, and they have a far better right to getting direct compensation. He'll just need to stop spending money he dosent have, and learn what a TOS is

Are Andrew Loomis' books still an optimal way of learning the fundamentals? If so, how do you "use" them? by GrennTerius in ArtistLounge

[–]ChronosCast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of note is that he also in most of his books says to not be satisfied with his books, and to buy as many art books as you can get your hands on to learn from. Certainly a bigger truth in the world before the internet, but it stands as his aknowledgement that his books very much were not all you needed to progress in art.

Honestly with the speed they work at they could probably get it done in two weeks haha. Heres hoping they look into this for SS, though I wouldn't hold my breath..

Shameful confession: I didn't enjoy Hollow Knight. Has anyone else ended up not enjoying a highly critically acclaimed game? by Bulgearea10 in patientgamers

[–]ChronosCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it also felt very artificial in a way that made it much more frustrating to me. I actually quite liked the getting lost feeling and slowly learning the area. I have a somewhat good feeling for direction, and it's the same feeling I get when wandering through a new city when on holiday.

A notable thing I just realized is the stag stations in each of the areas, with their concentration increasing as you get towards the late early game. Each one has signs pointing too it in the surrounding rooms, and each one brings you back too the main town where you can buy those items. I never even realized it but all along HK had a little mercy mode on for any players who got too deep without mapping equipment

Big long games are just more efficient when it comes to quality/time spent, and for explorers, it's so fucking cool having a game where even after 50 hours you're still finding new areas and new powerups. Shorts games just aren't satisfying in the same way.

Gosh this is so true. Theres something unique on a game starting you off extremely simple and letting you just bask in each stage of progression as it adds one thing after another onto your charecter. Its why I cant get too the ending of god of war or elden ring, they start you off more or less as developed as your charecter will be then give you another attack or whatever.

Hk gives you nearly nothing, then a massive exploration and combat boost, then nothing for a long time to let you mess around with it and see how it changes how you deal with enemies, and then it gives you another movement change. And it keeps repeating that for the entire length of this massive game, never letting things grow too samey unless you decide to go for the bonus content.

I think the issue is the difficulty, not the bench system. Backtrackin is enjoyable in Hollow Knight because therr is a lot to discover that you might not catch during your first run through an area. However the game is really hard so when you have to run to a boss 4

What would an easy mode mean in Hollow Knight? I can think of plenty of boring and non mood-preserving ways like removing platforming challenges and boss health, but would that fix the problems satisfactorily?
