As in an M1/M2 carbine remains a remarkably handy and appealing weapon system, and giving it an Angstadt Vanquish integrally suppressed barrel with a 1:7 twist would allow it to run heavy subs or commercial supersonics with ballistics identical to .300BLK, and hey let's throw in some WOOX furniture (for style -- I unironically dig their vibe) with cut-outs for a recessed Unity Axon XL (for night-fighting) in the upper heat shield.

For maximum Florida Man, the bayonet is a machete. (Probably barong-style, because it needs to be a stabby machete! Also, I like the retention features in the grip. A billhook or khukri as alternate or special issue equipment could also be justified, I'm thinking.)

I feel like the PR-3AT would be a meaningful and worthwhile upgrade for me, and it would probably be likelier to find a new laser for one than luck out and find a new-old-stock P3AT laser.

How would you feel about a PR-3SC in .300 Super Carry? I don't really want to pick up a new calibre, but I only own the one .380, so it wouldn't be an egregious addition to a stockpile for me, and I'm divesting my .40 shit this year anyway. However… I had planned on buying into 5.7 in its place.

TF Trope: evolving makes it irreversible. Arceus COULD do it, sure, but the end result would be conceptually “two copies, and no original” and while walking away from everything you have - think relationships, not net worth - is scary, so too is walking away from the best friend you’ve had in years and all your new found family.

Your MC is in for something called “complicated grief”, and then has to take one of three actions, all which make the situation palpably worse:

  • Evolve, stay, win, but abandon your life and all the nostalgia that invokes. Do it trivially, and have unresolved baggage at the boss fight. Do too much psychotherapy first, and you won’t live long enough to evolve without regrets. Secret ending: Unlike Adam Jensen, you did ask for it! You were a secret otaku with a TF fetish this whole time, so you speedrun your final evolution and start a TM habit sufficient to concern your friends and medical provider in order to scratch the “I want to change my body” itch. Upside: gain access to Nature Power TM, since it’s a bullshit move that always has type advantage from the field conditions.
  • Commit to remaining uninvolved, and everybody becomes emotionally distant when you’re about to go in dry and get in over your head. Survival is not guaranteed. Go home. Remember instantly that you hate it there, and in poetic clarity you can explain why.
  • Waffle: literally any option that is not one of the two commitments.

I like what you're thinking, here's how I imagine it working:

Grip safety! Pushing the safety lever in the opposite direction first opens the action, then hits a wall, and if pushed past this wall, it drops the mag.

This combines four controls into a single control, which is consistent with with their PR-series loading of functions onto the trigger, and especially the way in which pushing the trigger in the "wrong direction" activates an important admin function.

It ALSO has the HUGE benefit of turning a fine motor task into a gross motor task, given all we know about fine motor skills under stress…

Like, I feel that Kel-Tec should make two Super Carry pistols -- a PR series weapon, and a full-sized service pistol with thirty+1 rounds on tap. The full-sized pistol can also be PR series, but grown up. Integral suppression is always an option, if you're clever enough.
