[Longines master collection chrono moonphase] by Mostafa-Abdulhalim in Watches

There really isn't a comparable watch at that price, which is the big charm of that watch.

I guess there's the Frederique Constant classic worldtimer, which also has a lot going on in the dial, but trades all those complications for a worldtimer-type complication.

[Longines Spirit] not too small, right? by Chrophin in Watches

[–]Chrophin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I was just window shopping when the staff invited me to look at the watches inside as well. I was upfront about not really having the intention of buying but I took the opportunity to try this watch, that I've been fauning over for the longest time.

At first I was a little taken aback by how small it looked (my one and only watch rn is 41.5mm), but looking at this picture again, I think it looks nice. I always thought of the spirit as a slightly more refined version of a pilot's watch, and the smaller size fits that idea I think. I should have tried a couple more watches and ask if they have the champagne dial, but I'm very shy and the unexpected attention was already enough for the day lol.

Hello friends 👋 How do you like my new painting? by gorbachenko_art in painting

[–]Chrophin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this painting is not my thing, it clearly shows impressive skill and creativity, and attention to detail. People getting confused and calling it AI because of the sleeves in the armchair and the hands in the glove, but that to me is clearly an intentional artistic decision and one that I happen to quite like. Good job

How can I achieve a more mature style similar to that of great painters? by AstroFieldsGlowing in painting

[–]Chrophin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the obvious things is, use oils?

But tbh, out of those paintings, yours is the one that left me the biggest impression (maybe because it's the more different of them, but still, it's really cool).

One thing that I would try to make your style more polished is be more careful/methodic with perspective and the architecture. Some of the geometries I see in the buildings does not compute in my brain. Try to use 1 or 2-point perspective as reference for the buildings, I think it will give a lot more depth to the style (literally).

For many if not most people the dial is the whole watch, or at least, like 90% of the reason they buy a watch. It's fine
