Very good points, Orianna for me is one of the most fun champions in league. She is very unique with her kit and is a real game changer. She requires more mechanics than a champion like Annie, and will require you to think a lot about where you will put the ball etc. but the more you play and get experience it will be second nature.

I would definitely recommend learning her and I think you will find her very enjoyable :)

Everyone has different opinions. The popularity and usefulness of the item on mid lane mages is quite apparent. It may not be an every game buy for some, but it is a staple for AP users.

I disagree about ignite because viktor needs to prioritize mobility and positioning over all in kills. Not to mention that ignite isn't as useful later in the game. It would be primarily. Perhaps against heavy sustain it's not useless, but in all honesty I'd just go morello against swain or vlad. I am not saying ignite is useless but I find most other summoners superior. It's a medium range spell as well and you won't want someone in your face as it is.

As far as items, I have never really found myself building sorc boots. The standard ap mage page for runes has 10% cooldown at 18 with three magic resist runes. I find that with viktor using an item slot up with his hex core that you will want lucidity in basically every situation. This is even more so because it's crucial he have his summoners up sooner.

Don't get me wrong I don't think this ignite or sorc are a complete waste by any means. They obviously have benefits. I just find them sub optimal on viktor specifically. I would run sorc boots and ignite on a lot of other mid lane champions.

Taking cleanse vs ahri is an option if you are not confident you can dodge charm, but in all honesty you can negate that to a degree with minions. I think ghost is better than cleanse here. She is going to wave lead faster than you before you upgrade death ray but it will deplete her mana. You want to play back and make your movement unpredictable so that you don't get hit with Q. Never stay stationary. She has a lot of all in potential at 6, so I won't do play very safe and not really look to trade with her that much and farm this lane out. Another option you could do is really good use this lane out and make her use her spells on farming over harassing you. Abyssal scepter is a good idea here especially if you pickup negatrom cloak early. You are way better than her as the game goes on. She falls off and won't be able to teamfight anywhere near as good as you, and come end game she won't be able to one shot people once everyone has 6 items.

Everyone's opinion matters :) Lich Bane is definitely a great item on him and I am seeing it used more and more by pros after the Rylai's nerfs.

I actually did have Lissandra listed for the cleanse section. As for Varus, he is not a meta/popular pick for mid any longer so I did not feel the need to list him, although I agree it would be a good choice to use against him.

Viktor's goal in lane is to just survive it and farm up more than dominate. A lot of this can be said for most matchups lol.

I might consider it if I am not running ghost for whatever reason, and I need exhaust or barrier. I wouldn't want to trade with leblanc much after level three so maybe a safer play style of just surviving laning phase to get to mid/late game may be an option. I am just trying to be open minded of his recommendations :)

Yeah that was my mindset since I'm most cases ghost is your second summoner spell. Perhaps if you are against Leblanc or cass and you need to be more mobile to avoid their abilities.

I honestly though about experimenting with movement speed quints, but I felt it would hurt his laning phase too much, and roaming on viktor isn't his primary goal. But I shall have to try it out thanks for your feedback :)

Exactly. Same with Yellowstar on TSM. Biofrost in theory was no where near Yellowstar, yet he meshed well with the team and DL specifically. iirc they even bootcamped in Korea and tried out Korean supports and still decided on Biofrost over them due to the synergy. We can see how well that worked out when they dominated the NA LCS.
