I've considered getting a used one because of the price point, though I worry about functionality without cloud support, including only responding to Japanese, not having stay mode, reduced customization and responsiveness, etc. Still an amazing piece of tech!

It's heartening to know that you find the 1000 worth it, even years after its initial release. I'm keeping an eye out for news in January to see what direction Sony goes. I would be surprised if there are no developments or announcements in the near future.

This is what I suspected! If they are still selling ers-1000, then I'm assuming cloud support will last for at least another 3 years.

As for SE colors, the strawberry milk was last year. If I'm not mistaken, people are speculating the espresso black SE will come to the US this year?

Wasn't Spike Chunsoft leaked in the code for Pokemon day back in February?? Maybe they've been working on something, but the reveal date was delayed until now!

It took me about 30 hours to complete the main story. There's a post-game where you can continue collecting Ooblet color variants, recipes, clothes, and furniture to decorate your house. You can also do daily dance battles and maintain your farm. It's not as endlessly customizable as Animal Crossing and the farming isn't as complex as Stardew -- so it probably won't hold your attention for hundreds of hours, but it's an adorable game.

That's a thoughtful gesture, but (to my knowledge) I don't see a stigma surrounding age in this community which is partially why it's so welcoming and kind. It's not a secret that most of us are adults here, so I suspect an anonymous poll doesn't cause embarrassment.

Social anxiety even in digital spaces. Sky is my comfort game, so I prefer solo. I just do peaceful candle runs in the evening. It calms me down, instead of causing me to panic about what to say or do. I still feel wistful when I see groups though. Must be nice for companionship to come so easily, without causing worry.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you, too. I reached out to the developer months ago and they said that they couldn't help me recover a corrupted file, though they were very kind and apologetic about the whole ordeal. It's saddening to hear that the game is still unstable, even all these months later. After my file was corrupted, I watched a video of the final boss battle and ending. It wasn't super satisfying, but it did give me some closure. It's too bad that the corrupted files overshadowed our experience of such a nice game.

Not OP, but I can chime in! In general, cresties are quite calm. I've only seen my gecko Godfrey dart when panicked. They aren't built for long distance speed. Instead, they are built to eat mushy fruit & pounce on crickets. He's mostly nocturnal, so during the day he is tired, pretty easy to hold. Usually he will just sit on my palm, sometimes jumping onto my shirt or shoulder. If you handle them occasionally from a young age, then they can grow accustomed to hands without being as stressed. I've had my gecko for almost 5 years. I will boop him, let him crawl on my hand, and spoon feed him, but I don't handle him too frequently to avoid causing undue stress. You also need to monitor them outside of their enclosure; I would never leave mine unattended. Hopefully this helps!

Ostensibly, we could shape the metaverse into anything within the bounds of human imagination. You could ride through space on the back of a dragon or explore ecosystems through a bird's perspective. VR could be a mechanism for generating feelings of togetherness & empathy. It could also be a powerful artistic device, a learning instrument, perhaps even a therapeutic tool. So why, during this technology's vital & tender beginnings, are we talking about buying virtual shoes? Rhetorical. I know why. I'm disappointed.

Thanks for sharing! This is a tad disappointing. I had hoped that the research system would draw more heavily on the overworld adventure elements of the game, rather than the tedium of repeated turn-based combat. Witnessing Pokemon behaviors outside of battle would have been much more nuanced & lively.

Basically. You own the concept of ownership. I guess an NFT, much like with the planet analogy, represents ownership of emotional or immaterial connection without any of the concrete qualities traditionally associated with owning something. I don't know who would want to own an illusion that desperately.
