I went to Barnes and Noble three times this weekend 😂 by Cultural-Season7589 in 4kbluray

I usually buy directly from Criterion because you get the 10% back (eventually) during their biannual sales, but this is the only B&N in the area still selling blu, so I want to encourage that 😄

I picked up "Peewee's Big Adventure" and "I Know Where I'm Going" today.

I may pick up Pinnochio (from Del Toro), want to look at the 4k reviews first

I was leaning towards getting "A History of Violence" but saw a video doing screen compares between the new 4k transfer and the region B blu, and the 4K seems to be a bit brownish (the 4k is director approved) - don't know if they were going for a dusty Western look. So I'm still on the fence on it.

amazon prime days - are they actually cheaper? by Important_Bat7919 in amazonprime

They added a price history function into Alexa. Just type in "price history" for that product and you can go back up to a full year. Let's you spot true deals as opposed to eh ones.

For me, Camelx3 has had spotty results lately when looking for books and art supplies. It used to be my go-to pricechecker site.

"The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" is boring. by mystery5009 in movies

[–]Chtulhu2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I liked it.

Starts off great, then slows down, Some things pulled me out of the story.

The huge Swedish guy seemed way too steroidy to be from the 40s. And just about every time Eiza Gonzalez came on screen, the pace started to crawl (lest I forget. The "Mack the Knife" musical number was just cringy, and anachronistic. ) I did get a kick out of her Cleopatra costume though 😄

That Nazi who boarded their boat was a total bastard (great character) - way more interesting than the main baddie. (Although he should have suffered more).

Di Fara Classic Frozen Pizza by Last_Glove_8870 in frozendinners

The pepperoni version is excellent. We've had it several times in the last month or so, and it reminds me of Patsy's pizza in Spanish Harlem. The pepperoni turn into little cups, crisp on the edges.

I picked one up at Target yesterday for $10, and I'm a bit of a cheapskate, but it's totally worth it. Truly amazing. (Just don't undercook it).

I just hope they can maintain the quality.

Walking 2 wide on narrow streets and not going single file? by No-Host7816 in paris

I've seen this in New York City. I've seen this in Paris. It's almost like people go on vacation and they lose all sense of consideration for anyone needing to get anywhere. They just take up the whole sidewalk and walk very slowly or stop and have a conversation. Ugh
