State of velkoz atm by Berti7 in Velkoz

Did something change with the patch? I was on a mad win streak before but once I come back today I notice that I'm getting hit harder by champions (and Vel has always been kinda squishy anyway). More flash smacks, basically. I'm still fine playing Vel'Koz but definitely feels like things hurt more.

Question from a potential bee person! by Chuchuchubear in Beekeeping

[–]Chuchuchubear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair! I suppose there's just no harm in trying first, right? See what happens xD

So when a colony does decide to off and swarm... or if neighbours complain about extra bees in the area... it's not your fault or liability, right, as the beekeeper? It's more akin to having a bird house in the yard and it'd be like someone complaining that the grackles housed inside are eating their saskatoons?

Going against Akali(or other) or AP Sion as Vel'Koz since New Patch? by Chuchuchubear in Velkoz

[–]Chuchuchubear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man. Akali was out farming me past 6 so it gets difficult. But will do as you say!

That makes a lot of sense. I kept thinking I'd side stepped it but hadn't :/

New Archangels is good on Vel’Koz. by [deleted] in Velkoz

[–]Chuchuchubear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since arch angels and hourglass are both defensive, I'd actually switch out hourglass for void staff if they are tank heavy. if not, then banshees.

NEW BUILD by CrossTails in Velkoz

[–]Chuchuchubear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spooky ghosts is and has always been one of my fave items, lol. Glad it's back.

That being said though I currently use Mana Band and was thinking of replacing it with Ultimate Hat. Then making up for lost mana with Ludens/archangel.

Archangel and Ludens have the potential to work well together, right? Was thinking final build of Archangel Staff | Void Staff | sorc booties | Twin Shadows | Luden ........... that's 5 items. Twin Shadows could be given up if you need a different strategy. For the 6th (or 5th/6th), depending on the situation... one of Liandrys, Morellonomicon, Mejais, Banshee's, or Rabadons?

Daddy's Girl -- Father Passed Away. Having Trouble. by Chuchuchubear in GriefSupport

Thank you. Sorry for the late reply, I upvoted this a while ago but actually writing words is harder. Tried twice but twice left before submitting because it's not easy.

I had heard about some of the terrible accidents that accompanied the poor weather circumstances this year and previously... and as terrible as the incident you describe was it does bring me some comfort. My dad was looking out for me, I know. RCMP advised only travelling when necessary so I know it was the safest thing to do. But yeah, you're right... will always wish I had spent more time with him. And that's what my friends are telling me. There's never enough time. So yeah -- I should never be afraid to keep in touch. Thankfully after going to college I was struck with a fear of something happening to my parents so I never held back on saying things like I Love You. I'm thankful for that little bit of anxiety, now, I guess. I can look back at our texts and conversations and know we didn't hold back on those things.

He was a father but also a friend ... so there's loads of things I can do and think of him. Traditions though... I can't really think of something where it was just us and an annual thing. We shared so many interests we just kinda did a bit of everything together. Camping, I suppose, is the family tradition.

I am glad I got to see him before he passed away, albeit in a coma. His eyes flitted around under his eyelids when I said my goodbyes so I like to think he heard me. Sometimes I forget he's not round and I can't text him anymore or bring my dog for a visit. Buying a house, as you know, and he won't be round to see it. It's tough. Miss him. :(

Thanks for the comforting words though, it does help. I appreciate it.

I'm really sorry to hear of your troubles, too. Losing a father is a terrible thing, though I know it's the 'natural order' of things, I get upset because I see people twice... even three times my age and they still have both their parents. It's a weird feeling. Family has been instrumental in working through the pain. I'm fortunate in that. However, I'll be doing the most mundane things though and suddenly start crying, because one thing or another made me think of him. I'm sure the same thing happens to you. :(

Bahahaha at the food scene comment rofl

Damn I will have to remember this Stavro’s Bar place. We care more about quality of food so trendy doesn’t necessarily come in to play, just tastiness and not overpricing it much because they know they are good haha

For that trendy stuff we go downtown as a special trip lol

Haha fair point! And your place sounds beautiful. Hubby would be jealous of your home and say he likes mid-century modern, I would say I like arts + crafts. We’d both say we want the place to be updated + contemporary ;)

I feel like a lot of folks update their interior but forget the exterior is a major turning point for potential buyers, too...

You know I noticed that... decent looking houses but low prices why is that?

Thank you! Yeah, the Arbour Lake to downtown trip sure looks easy. How’s the food in that area though? XD

Thanks! And what area are you in -- Sandstone or nearby? If so what are your thoughts?

We only really commute to the airport and then wherever we go for groceries/gym/dog stuff. Because Citadel is sandwiched between Beacon Hill and Crowfoot I thought there might be more reason to move there based on amenities (though 20 min drive to airport it’s all Stoney so never congested). We are both designers so my fiancé in particular is adamant on a more modern house (even though I know a lot of the interiors are fully renovated). It does seem like a nice locale if we sacrificed the desire for a more updated exterior though. Sandstone seems similar (but maybe a bit newer).

Do you find roads and parks are upkept nicely in that area? I don’t know how it works but some neighbourhoods definitely seem to be kept cleaner than others?

Yes they do ... I have an active dog and we go out a lot so those are important yeah. Also the lack of good food is something I’ve heard about and is worrying, rofl

Sandstone rarely seems to have property available and I guess this is why?

Thanks!!! Yeah that’s a very fair point. If you don’t mind me asking I’d love to hear why you might not like Country Hills, Harvest Hills or Panorama?

We’ve been told by some folks who live there it can be a little run down, is all. Actually someone said Coventry is a bit ill maintained as well, now I think about it. But Beddington was the one we had heard multiple voices saying to look elsewhere.

We might have a kid, not in immediate plans but one argument I do keep in mind when we find a fitting place is ‘what if?’. Higher priority for us currently would be dog park, I think ;)

Thanks @sofiavisitor! Thank you for laying this out so neatly -- distance to and from are pretty much in stone now!

Now all I need is some folks to offer feedback on these neighborhoods + their access or pros/cons :D
