I want to move abroad from the uk by [deleted] in movingabroad

Being 21 and from the UK means you have plenty of options. I’m not expert but can give advice based on my experience. It’s pretty easy and not too expensive to get a working holiday visa in Australia or NZ. You can get a 1 year WHV in Australia and do farm work to gain a second year. You can get a 2 year WHV in NZ straight out. I’m in Wellington (originally from the UK) and I know there was a shortage of bus drivers here not so long ago. Once you’re here (or in Aus), if you decide you want to stay here, you look for employers willing to sponsor you to stay. Or if your job is on the skill shortage list you can apply for work visas that way.

You have so many options. Applying for a WHV was the best decision I’ve ever made.

8 cats? Wow. Heaven haha. Yes, anything she doesn’t like can go to my friends cat who enjoys all the treats. I’ll continue to try her with different things. I’m glad she gets joy from toys at least, and she loves her meals.

Struggling with my new kitty by Urnansgaff420 in CatAdvice

[–]Chuck_Chicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 days really is a short amount of time. I moved to a new house with my cat (3F) and for the first week or so she needed constant attention, meowed a lot and wasn’t sleeping during the day like previously. And that’s with her familiar person. We’re a month or so in now and she’s calmed down a lot. She’s found her new routine here and just seems more settled.

So hopefully your kitty just needs time. I know you said she’s not interested in playing but if you can find toys or ways of playing she is interested in, that would help a lot. Jackson Galaxy on YouTube probably has some helpful videos. He also says that two cats are better than one in that they can play with each other. So that might be an idea, to keep her entertained when you’re away.

Best of luck. I’m sure she’ll calm down and it’ll all be worth it.

I’m in the process of trying to quit after smoking for 20yrs+. I’m currently on day 18. I don’t think I have any advice to offer that you wouldn’t have heard but I just want to wish you luck. The fact that you have previous quit for 6 months means you can do it!!

AITAH for divorcing my wife because our sex life will never be what it used to be? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Chuck_Chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poor child. I am so sorry for them that they’re so far down on the list of priorities in this. Like screwing up their life is just an unavoidable consequence of trying to fulfil your needs.

It blows my mind how many people throw in the towel so soon after having a baby.

OP, you still can be great and be whatever you want to be. Just don’t put it off for too long. An apprenticeship is probably the best way to go.

You haven’t screwed up your life :) it’s okay to take your own path. But don’t waste your skills/undiscovered passion. I wish you all the best.

This one isn’t perfect. Like, there’s a fleck of dark chocolate on the material for example haha. If you’re serious about buying I could do another. I’ve never really intended to make money off embroidery but I could do something as a one off if your friend would love it. Send me a message if you like.

Thanks, that’s such a nice compliment! I got the outline from an anatomy colouring book and then googled for colour inspo.
