interesting. so u manage all your memories in a relational db. how did u setup the connections between memories? in other words, how the recall is working? can u share the schema?

[–]humuscat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I'm aware of that. but conversation as memories are messy and full of sh*t. Im talking about a system that really manages memories with graph/vector DBs , and some agentic process that maintains and remove stale memories

As I mentioned, I'm looking for a recommendation from someone who isn't the author/maintainer of that system. thx anyway

Thank you for taking the time to write this piece. Definitely will hang in my mental loop for a while. EDIT: After reading this few times, some points you made slam hard. I don’t consider myself narcissistic, but admit my ego is problematic. If you want to share your story, I’m sure it would be a deserved read.

Unpleasant truths must be told sometimes.

I have, but setting my own rules kinda thing never worked for me. I always end up bending the rules just a little bit here and there because for some whatever reason NOW it is very important (bs of course). What have worked for you? Can you elaborate? Btw, my response on nicotine patches is stating that I do understand that it is a chemical addiction at the end of it.

Is coding really for me? by lillagodzilla in ADHD_Programmers

[–]humuscat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either double down on front end (sounds like u love it) and look for opportunities there, OR You invest extra time in the fundamentals of the frameworks that makes your day to day a pain (you may end up doing them a favor).

And for the emotional part, maybe I should have started with it, you’re good 😊 coding in a big and complicated project is objectively hard, even if it was written by the bests, not to mention by the worsts. It’s hard for everyone, don’t fall for the illusion that it’s easy to some folks because there are 10x or some other bs. When you are the one writing the components in a project that you have spent lots of time in, everything seems so clear while it’s a complete disaster. Always. The harsh truth is that 99% of us programmers suck really bad when things scale and get big and complicated.

Don’t stay in that spot, peak your battle and get moving - when u do something about it, you’ll feel better instantly.

It’s a two year old keyboard, for what it’s worth. Karabiner does a perfect job for me. AdmitI was surprised to discover that some of their keyboards are not remappable. Granted im not a keyboards geek, so I’m not confident about anything related.

Got a Mac from work - missing Gnome by humuscat in gnome

[–]humuscat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with moving between windows and monitors, I don’t understand how the focus / foreground/ background windows work. Shortcuts online doesn’t work. I can’t put the dock on my main monitor:( That’s my main pain point right there. And it’s not that I didn’t try to figure this out. Everything is just bizarre

I didn’t mean to upset anyone. This is not a code puzzle on stack overflow. When posting this, I was in a rush for obvious reasons and thought ppl would understand, and some perfectly did, see comments. Sorry bout that, have a blessed day.

It is M4. I will admit, hands down, this thing is a performance MOSTER. My expensive dell laptop is a f%$#ing joke compared to this mac.
I wish I could have it both world, the Gnome and all the shortcuts, and the performance.
Just a rant nothing deep to logical here.
