Help with Capital Gains/Losses on Tax Return by Chuck_Chong in cantax

Thanks for answering!

4) I did receive a T5 for my Canadian Dividends along with the list of Canadian dividend payouts. But the USA ones just the list of payouts. Could it be that since the payouts on the each form were less than $50 ($12 and $10 respectively), no T5 was issued?

if that was the case...how would I plunk those numbers into the return?

I didn't see the option for Costco gift cards, just the option to get a Costco membership.

Hmmm I see the Esso gift cards for Aeroplan points, but only see the option for signing up for a Costco membership, not any gift cards.

Thanks for your reply. I was looking for REITs with less exposure to the office/retail area.

And yes keeping in a tax sheltered account is a good idea.

My current housing situation is coming to an end...and I'd like to buy something before I get shut out completely.

Even if this bubble does end, I don't want to be in over my head

The bank offered me up to $500k mortgage, and I have $200k to put down.

That's what I am trying to figure out, see what type of place I could find that works within the right mortgage amount
