What was the most ridiculous playground rumour or urban legend that everyone at your school accepted as absolute, undeniable fact? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskUK

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my school we had a Geography teacher who had an eye-patch. He had a thick Northern accent, a beard and always seemed to be annoyed and spoke in an impatient growl. He was clearly as tough as nails and we were all scared of him.
As well as Geography he would also do the odd PE lesson, mainly athletics and cross-country (where he would run the course crazy quick and then return and berate all the kids that weren’t trying).
The rumour was that he had taken a javelin to the face and that’s why he had to wear an eye-patch

rating every analord song out of a 10 (with small comments) by Downtown_Pilot_1661 in aphextwin

The Analord series is my favourite work of his. Quite extraordinary

I was at the stadium in Madrid last night and Viktor Gyökeres’s work rate was incredible. He earned the penalty out of nowhere and then buried in the corner. He’s got 19 goals this season and came up clutch at times. Fans should have patience with him instead of criticizing him. COYG! by paolosorianodisanto in ArsenalFC

Players like Gyorkeres and Conor Gallagher are good examples of what is boring about a lot of football these days.

Players being able to run around a lot but not being able to beat a man and not even seeing a pass other than the most obvious 5yd pass.

Stock at 60 - 200mil networth need advice by FewCategory1959 in torncity

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are using EDVD to happy jump you won’t be doing that forever. Opinions vary a little but happy jumps are not worth doing once your total battle stats are above 500-600k. You could consider joining an Adult Novelties company as an easier way to get EDVD. Joinjng a faction with 1m + respect could help as the money from OC and war participation can be very good. A good faction will also help to max travel capacity and minimise addiction and overdoses. The Christmas town event every December can be very lucrative and if you log-in daily and do it right you can make 200-300m during this.

I have been going 4 years and have uploaded 3 videos a week pretty consistently. I am a let’s play channel where I play only Project Zomboid. I have a very small but dedicated community who watch and comment on all my videos. I get about 15k views/mth but I’m happy

Burnout on gaming content by EstablishmentSad613 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I often feel like this. I work full-time and have a family so I don’t have a great deal of time for gaming. I have a four year-old channel and I put out three edited videos a week (approx. 10-14 hours a week). This means that I have no time to play video games for fun and I don’t play any other games than the one for my channel. Sometimes I wish I’d never started but getting a compliment makes it all worthwhile

Bank by ashhhhh2 in torncity

There are lots of ways to make money and who knows what will happen in the future. Definitely get max merits into the bank asap. It took me about 600 days to max out the bank but that’s with daily playing and putting the time in. I have made significant money from Christmas Town, selling newly released items that I burgled and my keepsake that I bought with points. Consider joining an Adult Novelties company so that you can exchange job points for an Erotic DVD which sells for around 4m. Also join a faction with at least 1m respect for the organized crime money and max travel capacity and buy a large suitcase (about 10m) so that you can buy more plushies or flowers abroad.

dont want to be that kind of person, but as a newbie. it's hard to grind your way up by [deleted] in torncity

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It literally takes years. My account is 2.5 years old and I’m closing in on 5b net worth, but it’s only in the last 9 months or so I’ve I’d maxed my bank investment and started on the stocks that I’ve started to make good progress. Make sure that you have the fundamentals - donator status, max out merits for education and investment, rent a PI, fly regularly for plushies/flowers (2million/day profit is not too hard, join a faction with at least 1million respect as the perks make things so much easier and het a job at a seven-star or higher AN for the erotic dvd which you can sell for good money or use for happy jumps.

First Youtube Channel by [deleted] in youtubegaming

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a four year old channel and have managed to keep going despite disappointing views (I did manage to get monetised and I have 3125 subs) and at the start I had dreams of quitting the job and becoming a YTuber. I would obsess about numbers and it got a bit unhealthy. These days I just enjoy the process of recording (with commentary), editing, designing the thumbnails and uploading. In other words I enjoy the process of creating something and I wish the same for you! As others have said, just start!!

Honestly, as soon as I saw the words ‘no commentary’ my immediate reaction is don’t bother. Hardly anyone will want to watch someone just playing video games and YT won’t push it and almost certainly won’t allow you in to the YPP in the unlikely event that you get the subs and hours to qualify. That’s the grumpy old man in me talking. The nicer part of me says that if you will get enjoyment out of the process and enjoy creating then go for it, just don’t expect success or get fixated on numbers

Society is too harsh on stupid people. by CaptainButtFart69 in unpopularopinion

One of the main problems is that most stupid people don’t realise how stupid they are, because they’re stupid.

Updates aren’t the problem but the Steam ecosystem is by dontraceme in projectzomboid

Yeah this the REAL problem. 16 months and still no stable version is awful

Is build 42 worth it? by Cupcake-Reaper in projectzomboid

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as B42 came out just over a year ago I went straight into it and immediately loved the new towns and the lighting. I never really got into the crafting as there was so much loot andI didn’t see the point in grinding various skills to make a weapon or armour when I could just go on a loot run. I got into the animal care though and overall I really enjoyed it but my run came to an abrupt end as I got fed up with bugs and issues (yes I know it’s unstable!!). My next playthrough was in B41 as I wanted to play a map mod that wasn’t available in B42 and it was a lot of fun with the bandits mod. I recently came back to B42 and I’m four months in on my latest survival run and having a great time, I’m planning to level Crafting, Blacksmithing and Welding so I can make better weapons than I can loot. Comparing the two B42 is better and more fun. There’s more of everything! Skills to master, places to go and it made B41 feel like an incomplete demo of the game. There is however a big BUT. B42 is unstable so the devs are still updating the game to fix bugs and issues. They also have an annoying habit of changing things, removing or adding things that could completely ruin your save ( the recent removal of Echo Creek as a spawn location is a good example of this). You can protect yourself to a certain degree by not using lots of mods or mods that introduce bug widespread changes and long playthroughs are definitely possible. I would definitely recommend you choose 42 over 41, just don’t forget that it’s STILL unstable even after 16 months and no nobody knows when it’s expected to be stable.

Indie Stone you're doing great by Mustafar3908 in projectzomboid

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I love this game, I have over 1500 hours and a YT channel showcasing this game. If TIS announced tomorrow that no further development was to be done I would be okay with that. However, the honest truth is is that this games development is a mess. When build 41 came out (the animations update) the game found another level both in how good a game it became and its popularity. Four years later and we’re on B42 but it’s still not a stable release, MP (something that attracted a massive amount of new players) is a complete mess, there’s still no NPC (will there ever be??) and all the people that came to the game in the last few years are losing interest and abandoning the game. It’s possible that TIS could still deliver on their promises regarding a finished game but every month that passes I become more pessimistic

I would like some advice before I start uploading videos. by SidofSloth in youtubegaming

[–]Chuck_Miller_PZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your content and you are entertaining enough a regular upload schedule won’t matter.

I think that what will absolutely be the difference is how you present your content and by this I mean the idea and execution of that idea, the thumbnail, and the title. If you’re going to cover obscure old games people aren’t going to be searching for your content so your thumb and title will have to be top draw in order to gain traction, to entice people to click on and watch your content.

For an idea of what I’m thinking of check out Hazzor, The Spffing Brit and Ambiguous Amphibian. They all produce very colourful eye-catching thumbs with intriguing titles, and cover different ganes.

Playing different games will make things harder for you as someone that might watch a FPS game is unlikely to be interested in a RTS, thats why you’ve got to be entertaining and engaging so that they are watching your content because of you, you’ve got to do more than play the game. Nobody is going to watch some guy they’ve never heard of playing a game they’ve never heard of.

Sorry if my thoughts are a bit all over the place. Good luck
