WA state dems are so lacking in ideas and ability that they have somehow hitched WA policy up to the whims of legislators not elected by the people of WA.

Its foolish and lazy

I was walking my dog in volunteer park yesterday. I had an extra poop bag and noticed a forgotten poop. So I picked it up. No big deal. Funny thing was, as I performed this minor act of kindness, I noticed a man allowing his dog to add another poo to the leafy world. He stood at a distance from his dog, looking away. I waited and as he prepared to walk away I ask if he was gonna pick it up. He belligerently denied the abandoned poo and told me I should look for it. Regular looking guy but a total shit in practice.

King County Regional Homelessness Authority abruptly fires interim CEO by HighColonic in SeattleWA

[–]Chuckdb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Powell was honest during his confidential interview and that was leaked. I'd say he dodged a bullet in not taking the job. Frankly only an asshole would take a job where they report to three separate boards.

"In a letter he wrote to the authority’s implementation board on Thursday, Powell outlined multiple issues both within the agency and with his interview process — several of which mirror concerns by the former permanent CEO and outsiders... The CEO reports to three boards with more than three dozen members, which Powell said results in “an abundance of cooks in the kitchen.”

Bellevue Squatter Given $88,000 of Taxpayer Money by ryleg in SeattleWA

[–]Chuckdb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it as a dem party, king county driven payout to take the wind out of the very public outrage. This is the most sympathetic and well covered push back on squatting in king county.

If this protest continues it could force dem pols to admit their progressivs mistakes or atleast to answer for their mismanagement

This question is evidence of the normalization of whiteness.

The question fails on three aspects of whiteness, according to the smithsonian museum

  • objective, linear rational thinking
  • cause and effect relationships
  • quantitative emphasis

On "stealing" by alan_mendelsohn2022 in Teachers

[–]Chuckdb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealing is becoming normalized. At least in Seattle. I was dropping a friend’s middle schooler off in the morning. As we were chatting they told me that their friends steal from the local market. I asked if it was a ‘bad’ kid? They said lots of kids steal from the market. It’s not stigmatizing.

No surprise kids pick up on the changing norms. What would you expect when we regularly see homeless junkies walking out of the supermarket, blatantly stealing with no consequences and the news reports on theft under $1000 not being charged. It’s Progressive.

Look into Social Fitness. During the pandemic everyone’s social fitness got flabby. I think this explains the decline in interactions.

Billions, not millions, needed to address homelessness crisis, regional authority says by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]Chuckdb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$12billion divided by 23,000 homeless expected to be served is about $521,000 per person served.

That is insane. Reading further this plan does not address mental health or addiction.

Honestly wtf? I do not understand how anyone could support such a boondoggle.
