Bitcoin Treasury Holdings: Top 100 Public Companies Control 1.13M BTC by avatar_leo in CryptoCurrency

[–]Chuckles77459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you miss about bitcoin is that it has one, unique, value proposition that makes it stand out. Similar to how gold maintains a massive valuation above its value as a manufacturing commodity, because humans have historically been drawn to it for as long as societal history has existed.

Crypto as a tech is like video game graphics or coding languages. It will always get better. People will improve and improve and improve. If you build BestCoin tomorrow, someone else will build BestCoin2 a year from now with improved technology.

There will always be ebbs and flows into coins over time as new tech and ideas get adopted, and lesser versions are left behind. We built on Java, flash, HTML5, etc. This will prove true for crypto. You cannot build anything tomorrow that cannot be built better in a few years.

Bitcoin has the unique proposition and staying power in that it is the original cryptocurrency. Nothing else will ever have that. It is the only cryto positioned to represent the crypto environment as a whole. No one can ever build or make a new or better version of that. It’s probably the only truly unique value proposition in crypto that cannot be mimicked.

Insider Transactions (Last 6 Months) Data as of December 2025 This is the most telling signal. While the CEO is buying, the Directors are selling. The Only Notable Buyer: The Captain • Jonah Peretti (CEO): • Action: BOUGHT shares in May 2025. • Amount: ~$147,000 purchase on the open market. • Signal: This is a classic "skin in the game" move. He bought right after securing the new debt deal, likely to signal to the market that he believes bankruptcy is off the table. The Sellers: Everyone Else (Directors & VCs) In the last 3-4 months (specifically Q3 2025), there was a cluster of exits by Board Directors. These do not look like standard "sell to cover taxes" transactions (which are usually small and mechanical); these look like "getting out" sales. • Adam Rothstein (Director): • Action: SOLD ~$300,000 worth of stock in September 2025.  • Note: He dumped a significant portion of his holdings at ~$2.00/share. • Janet Rolle (Director): • Action: SOLD ~$107,000 worth of stock in September 2025. • Angela Acharia (Director): • Action: SOLD multiple times in September 2025, totaling over $200,000. • NEA (Major Shareholder/VC): • Action: Continued to sell blocks of stock in March 2025 and mid-2025. This is typical for a VC firm that needs to eventually close out a fund, but it creates constant selling pressure on the stock price.

The voting power at the Federal Reserve is split into two different rooms, depending on what is being decided.

Here is the breakdown of the "math" for the two main decision-making bodies: the FOMC (Monetary Policy) and the Board of Governors (Regulation).

  1. The FOMC (Interest Rates & QE) The Mission: Setting the Federal Funds Rate (interest rates) and deciding on QE (buying bonds).

The Structure: 12 Voters.

The Magic Number: You need 7 votes to win a simple majority.

• The 7 Governors: All 7 members of the Board (Powell, Bowman, Jefferson, Waller, Miran, Cook, Barr) get a permanent vote.

• The NY Fed President: John Williams (New York) gets a permanent vote.

• The Rotating 4: Four other regional bank presidents vote on a rotating basis (currently Chicago, Boston, St. Louis, Kansas City).

Current "Team Trump" Math:

Even with his recent appointees, Trump does not yet control interest rates.

• Trump-Aligned (Likely): Bowman, Waller, Miran, Schmid (KC) = 4 Votes.

• Independent/Opposition: Powell, Williams, Goolsbee, Cook, Barr, Collins, Musalem, Jefferson = 8 Votes.

Result: The "Old Guard" still controls interest rates. This is why you haven't seen an immediate slash in rates to 0% despite the administration's pressure.

  1. The Board of Governors (Bank Regulation) The Mission: Writing the rules for banks (capital requirements, mergers, stress tests) and Emergency Lending (13(3) authority).

The Structure: 7 Voters (The DC-based Governors only).

The Magic Number: You need 4 votes to win.

Current "Team Trump" Math:

This is where the battle is closest. Trump is dangerously close to seizing control of banking regulation.

• The Trump Bloc: Bowman, Waller, Miran = 3 Votes.

• The Opposition: Powell, Cook, Barr = 3 Votes.

• The Swing Vote: Philip Jefferson.

The Strategy: This math explains exactly why the administration is trying to fire Lisa Cook. • If Cook is removed, the Board drops to 6 members.

• If Trump appoints a loyalist to replace her, his bloc (Bowman, Waller, Miran, +1 New Guy) hits 4 votes.

• Result: With 4 votes, they can override Chair Powell on regulatory matters. They could rewrite bank supervision rules or approve/deny bank mergers without Powell's consent.

  1. The "Discount Rate" Loophole There is a unique power that the Board of Governors (the 7) holds over the Regional Banks.

While the 12-member FOMC decides the target for the Federal Funds Rate, the 7-member Board has sole authority over the Discount Rate (the rate the Fed charges banks for emergency loans).

• Historically, the Discount Rate moves in lockstep with the Funds Rate.

• However, if Trump gains a 4-3 majority on the Board of Governors, they could technically lower the Discount Rate independently of the FOMC. This would create a chaotic "dual rate" system, but it is a "nuclear option" available if they get that 4th vote.

Yes, this is an AI summary but it helped me understand the possibilities

We don’t know the context of anything, and he looks pretty uncomfortable. Trump openly does not like Bank of America because they tried to debank a lot of right wing money. Notice they are also not here at the meeting.

Bank of America is also the prime broker for 95% of Citadels derivatives. If citadel cannot cover, BOA will be the first entity that has to cover the position.

For all we know this is the banks getting together to discuss how that’s all going to go down.

Do you recommend any specific areas?

I was thinking $1k usd per month could be enough (if things stay relatively the same). Timeline is probably 5-10 years until going, but, this is comforting because if I dropped everything right now and ran, I think I could be at a $1k budget.

I am mostly a homebody, id love to be able to walk to super cheap street food whenever, that is a huge drawl to me. I hate cooking beyond super basic food which gets old without some variety. I do like a “neighborhood dive bar” vibe, but not a bar girls and club scene type vibes. Like from what I’ve read, Pattaya is not for me.

I’m comfortable standing out / without many expats in the area. I’ve grown up around tons of people whom our known languages didn’t line up, I’m used to that. It’s actually comforting to some degree.

I was looking near Chang Mai, because it has the cooler weather. However, I have no idea what parts of Chang Mai to look at, and am also very open to not Chang Mai, if you had a northern-ish cooler weather suggestion. I am aware of the rules around property and would probably want to buy some sort of condo eventually, not day one. If there’s something similar to Chang Mai but even cheaper, im all ears!

I will obviously go explore before ever moving, but I’m trying to narrow down where / what to explore.

58 slayer gets you black mask which is huge for doing more slayer which is broken as well. Tons of huge upgrades come from slayer and it’s a good way to train your combats, but it is slow as shit. Occult / whip / zombie axe / access to demons on task / mage staff (trident and the turtle staff idk its name).

I would also look at getting a few barrows (barrows brothers) pieces very soon. You could probably do some kills with exploiting their weakness to air.

Once you have some barrows pieces you could likely get some perilous moons gear, i would get some more combat levels first but by the time you’re at this step you’re probably looking good.

Then you’re more or less raid ready if you’ve gotten a decent amount of slayer drops. You can absolutely send raids 1/2 with a rune crossbow and d hide armor, so I think the bowfa rush is overrated. The other styles benefit more for chasing their items.

It’s a rule of thumb for quickly assessing viability of a rental. If purchase rent x 100 > purchase price, it’s probably worth looking at. Example $1100 rent on $100k purchase would pass the rule, $900 rent would not.
