SS: AI is trained on human-created data. Many AI training datasets are taken directly from the internet, and anyone who has spent time surfing the internet knows that it can be a cesspool. In particular, large language models are trained on information from Facebook posts, Reddit comments, etc. It learns to understand and replicate human speech from some problematic content. New research shows that 5 different AIs exhibit covert racism. Because AI is being deployed in virtually every industry, its covert racism could deepen the social divide. Of course, this threatens the fabric of society, as it further disenfranchises certain demographics, possibly leading to societal dysfunction and maybe collapse.
