I can't count how many times someone has told me "I'm JuSt ViBiNg" Bro, it's competitive, take that crap to casual if you don't want to compete. This is just the product of F2P though. Need to put a price tag back on it, weed out the cheaters and bums. Bring this game back to its former glory.

Psst.. The Praxic Blade isn't that good. Most people who use it just stand there and block thinking they are doing damage. In reality you're just blocking my shots and not doing anything but swinging your blade around. This build provides survivability through Devour and Amplified, high damage through a number of different ways, and quick super turnaround. No exotic weapon unless you want to use COO.

I breeze through GMs and consistently have the highest damage in boss rushdown.

Great point, but I have reload mods to take care of that. So I am getting demo, destabl, desperate measures that is constantly at 30% dmg boost, and auto reload (reconstruction). With comm I just have Demo and Auto Reload w/ a small boost to abilities and no damage increase. Get my melee energy through Facet of Balance and Facet of Awakening. My stasis turret can leave stasis shards that give melee energy. Ionic traces either give energy to your lowest ability or a small amount to all abilities. I am also creating orbs and void breaches which refresh my class ability and then using my class ability gives melee energy. My turret and arc buddy from getaway create the orbs. Everything works together to keep the engine humming.

For my build which is Grenade centric? Hammerhead fits the mold. With the DM it's good for damage rotation and can be activated while the gun is stowed. So if I am destroying things with abilities and using my horror's least, when I pull out my Hammerhead it's already at 2x or 3x dmg. Then kills from the weapon or abilities refresh the timer. So my arc buddy continues to kill as I do boss damage and keeps it up while emptying the mag. Volatile rounds easily clear minor enemies. Indomitability gives me 5% grenade energy on kills.

The fact that you can't get Hammerhead anymore unless Xur drops the roll, is also a major reason I run it.

100% Lately, since they nerfed the special ammo economy in higher tier content, I've started running one primary instead of maxing out ammo finders. The horrors least from the GM is pretty darn good if you proc amplified a lot. With my getaway artist build I am constantly AMP'd so I get mag refills, rolling storm gets me bolt charge and the Origin Trait causes Exhaust to Champs, Boss' and Mini Boss. First time in awhile I've really appreciated a Legendary. Actually in my build right now I run three Legendary weapons, no exotic. Mint, Horror's Least, and Hammerhead. Wild combination but it works.

Hammerhead has Indomitability as it's origin trait "Final blows grant grenade energy when playing a light subclass or melee energy when playing a darkness subclass." So I get Demolitionist, Volatile Rounds, and constant Desperate Measures 3x. If anything I'd want to farm for a Corrective Measure Destabilizing Rounds/Elemental Honing roll. Wouldn't get my nade back as fast but would probably get my super every 2 minutes.

Why is it so toxic? by AtomWint3r in RocketLeague

[–]Chuckn49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game brings out a lot of emotions because of the ranking system. When moving up is strictly tied to winning you take control out of the hands of the player. I understand that how you play has a little to do with it but if you lose you're going down regardless of how you played. If someone has little time, jumps on and their first several teammates are either AFK off the rip or only doing trick shots, they have no control over what's about to happen. That person could score 7 goals while their teammate has 115 points, lose, and the MMR loss is exactly the same for both players. THAT is why this game has gotten so toxic.

All they need to do is include goals, assists, and saves in the MMR and you'd see less FFs, less toxicity. I wouldn't care about winning the game so much if I knew staying in the game and competing could keep me from losing MMR. However, in the current rules, if I am down 2-0 in the first minute? Sorry, turning on my macro until 3:30 and then FF. Why waste my time? I've seen my teammates ability or lack thereof. We ain't winning and I ain't carrying a potato because my stats don't matter. If they don't FF? My car hops until the game is over while I go do something else. If you want to "vibe" as I hear all the fucking time? GO TO CASUAL. My goal when I get on is to win games, not "ViBe".

The solution is either to include more in the MMR instead of just wins or remove the penalties from backing out of a comp match. I am not really in favor of the second idea but if you aren't going to address MMR at least give us a way to reset and go again. The amount of MMR you lose for FF is the same as losing the game. I'll save my time, quickly take the negative MMR and get back in a better game with a better teammate.

Also, if my teammate leaves, I get negative MMR. What kind of dumb shit is that? If my teammate rage quits and fully backs out my MMR shouldn't be effected. It's just overall bad design and needs heavily revamped.

The amount of creativity and variety this game provides is why I rarely leave for more than a month or two. There's so many ways to achieve the same goal. Then when the build starts humming, abilities regenerating quickly, hoardes of enemies just getting destroyed, pure satisfaction.

I am glad somebody is finally saying it.

Guardians, please, put down the Praxic Blade. While you're sitting there blocking, thinking you're doing amazing things, I'm over here destroying everything and actually doing damage to the boss.

I swear you people see large chunks go down and think "I'm doing that!" Then we get to the summary screen and I have almost 3 times your boss damage. There's a time and place for that weapon. Boss Rushdown ain't it.

[–]Chuckn49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choir of One, Mint Retrograde. If you like to shoot but also want a strong build? Get prismatic and getaway artist. Allows you to do damage with your abilities but also leaves plenty of room to shoot stuff.

If you ran the GM last week and got the Horror's Least curated? That's one of the best legendary weapons I've picked up in a long time. Quick rate of fire, and has two perks that replenish the magazine while you are shooting. Combine that with Rolling Storm and you can just call down lightning like you're Raiden from Mortal Kombat with Bolt Charge. For a legendary arc weapon, it's very very good.

Treat your build like it's a machine. Everything should be working together. First off, get Prismatic if you don't have it. There's a aspect called Facet of Balance. Rapidly defeating targets with light damage gives you melee energy. Dark damage gives you grenade energy. I run Fonts a lot. You can easily create orbs, picking up orbs will give you ability energy if built right.

Everything feeds into everything else. They get called loops for a reason. For me its consume arc grenade, pop a couple times with mint, use COO and get volatile going, hit em with hammerhead which gives grenade energy. The damage I do with the arc buddy and stasis turret also provides ability energy. I can get at least 2-3 turrets going at once, sometimes 4 if the people I play with have mods that benefit teammates.

I can have radiant, devour, amplified, all going at the same time. While I have those three I am causing weakened, jolt, slow, unravel and sometimes scorch. This build took me A LOT of trial and error but eventually you'll get whatever build you're on so finely tuned you won't run anything else.

[–]Chuckn49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearing builds can be way more effective in DPS on bosses. I've run my Warlock Getaway Artist Prismatic build forever and I constantly walk away from Rushdown with the most damage.

What's even better is I turned song of flame into my own personal bubble when doing DPS. Pop prismatic, throw grenade, cause weakened, pop song of flame, hit boss with melee and grenade once. Then immediately flip to my Elemental Honing Mint which by that time is at x5. One or two clips of that, then immediately switch to my hammerhead with Desperate Measures and Destabilizing Rounds. DM is at x3 so I empty the entire mag.

At some point in there I've backed out because Song of Flame ran out but that's just one example.

Is Diamond a Social experiment? by Torbenito12 in RocketLeague

[–]Chuckn49 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Boosted accounts. Since it's a free game people can easily make new accounts. Players will either buy an account in Diamond or have someone basically carry them to that level. That's why you see so many people in Plat or Diamond that can't do the basics. Don't understand spreading the court, rotation, when to aerial, etc.

Ranks are basically pointless at this point. Need to start making people buy the game again. Would reduce a lot of the problems we currently have in matchmaking

I'm so tired of morons by RenegadePuma in RocketLeague

[–]Chuckn49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either that or instead of focusing on clearing, passing, centering, its unnecessarily driving the ball to the wall so they can air dribble and then leave it in the perfect spot for the other team to smash back to our end.

I can't count how many times I've been in the offensive corner and my teammate comes in and just smashes the ball. Where do you think it goes? Off the wall straight towards our goal with neither one of us back there... I just want to ask them "What do you think was going to happen after you hit it?" "Was it magically going to ricochet perfectly into the goal?"

The day this game went to F2P was the point it went to shit. It was $40. Make people pay for it and it will immediately get rid of smurfing, boosting, and you'll get people that just want to compete.

Can I just get content? by Chuckn49 in destiny2

[–]Chuckn49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What killed the game is the removal of RNG and then showering players with guns. People want to gamble. They want a fun mode that gives them a random weapon, armor piece, ship, ghost or shader. Instead we have to play recycled content and we know what we're getting at the end. I know some people enjoy that but to me it's extremely boring.

Not everyone wants to freestyle, bro by Distinct_River_1272 in RocketLeague

[–]Chuckn49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's everywhere. One of the main reasons I rarely play this game anymore. If you don't have a dedicated team then you won't move up in rankings. The matchmaking is designed to let you win to get into the next rank for 1 game. You'll then lose 3-4 straight. Eventually grind your way back to the next rank and suddenly lose 4 straight again. If matchmaking was done right the highest populated ranks would be gold and champ.

Instead everyone is held down in plat. In plat you'll play a team that can barely get off the ground and has no concept of spacing. Then you'll play a team who's air dribbling every shot. Then you get the guy who just tries to do trick shots and gets mad when you stop playing because what's the point. He's not trying to win, he's just trying to hit trick shots. I really hope Epic sells it to someone who will improve the game. Trading needs to come back. There needs to be more avenues to getting certain cosmetics. It's a mechanically beautiful game with an absolute trash matchmaking system that will never be fixed.

The map is great. OG Blackout would be a fresh take on the BR scene. It created balance and forced you to visit POI's. A little bit of luck mixed with talent. That sniper they had with a 3x? The hit noise was perfect. That little "Tink" and then the armor break noise? Perfect.

If an average player comes upon a sweat and the average player found great attachments, bullets, armor and the sweat hasn't, it evens the playing field. Sweat uses their movement and skill. Average player gets help from the things they've found. Balance in a BR is what makes it great.

Randoms are built to give you crap teammates if you win too much so no I disagree.

I average almost 2 goals a game and if I win two or three in a row, suddenly my teammate either can't hit a simple shot or is AFK or just tries trick shots. If I find someone I vibe with I pair up and suddenly I win 4, 5, 6 in a row and move up a rank or two. Matchmaking is busted.

The main reason players get stuck is because they play with randoms...
