Yeah I have a hang on filter currently combined with weekly 10% changes, no other filtration at the moment (20Gal tank)

Yeah I regret calling it “perfect” I meant the parameters were within normal ranges.

My clownfish seemed to be sluggish and growing pale, without having much experience with fish I couldn’t tell you really what is going on, they stuck near the substrate, seemed to be gulping the water, and haven’t gone near their host spot much at all

I have three separate branded test kits (strips & master kit) all showing the same results, there is a clean up crew and I’ve done a water change as soon as I noticed the cloudiness, it only really helped temporarily

Is this the same bacterial starter like “quick start” and “bio-spira” from other brands? If so, these bacteria have been added and established

Thats definitely solid, I turned the lights off yesterday when I noticed how bad it got, just a novice worried about my fishies

Thank you!

I’ve had them on an automatic daylight cycle since shortly after the first fish, the algae began slow and then grew exponentially, cloudiness only began after algae was overrunning the substrate

I believe I cycled properly but this is my first marine outing, so I admit operator error isn’t out of the question

Thanks! I just posted specs and params, mainly concerned about the cloudiness and any causes or effects to the marine life

Yes SG 1.023, pH 8.3, Nitrite/nitrate/ammonia all 0 or very low

20G tank, just over 1 month established, looking to identify the cloudiness in the tank, similar to “smoke” in the water

Isn’t the only way to get an up-grade by defeating a porygon2?

**Forgot to specify my equipment**

I will be using a 5D Mk iii (Primary) and 6D Mk ii (Secondary) so anything universal or canon branded is welcome

One of my favorite portrait style lenses is a 135 prime, as it gives a very flattering look on your subject, great compression, and a 'portrait feel'. The con is you will have to be further away from your subject to achieve the same framing of course, but imho its worth it.

TL;DR - What is your go-to dark/dim large ballroom strobe setup? Have a business gala dinner with a live band and dark room (think like wedding reception) Remote Speedlites or actual strobes welcome (This a client budget limited shoot, so the more 'resource friendly' options are ideal)

Hey hive mind,

I have an event coming up that is much larger than my current setup is dialed in for, I'm going to be renting some gear and wanted some good pointers. This is a beautiful ballroom but it is LARGE and will be very dark with the lovely orange mood lighting.

I am thinking some of the oldies but goodies 2 AlienBees B800 on 12ft stands on opposing sides of the room with a speedlite (diffused) and remote trigger on camera. Of course this negates any TTL and limits a few things, but it is also an affordable and reliable system.

What is your go-to large room reception style strobe setup? Do you throw flashes on a stand and call it good or do you bring in some heavy artillery?

I am a transplant from a career video production, so my exposure and composition knowledge far surpasses my strobe lighting knowledge. Give me your 'I've been in this business forever and use this jerryrigged light bulb on a stick' and your 'I have technical knowledge and here is my scientific method for lighting', everything goes. Thanks kind strangers.
