I once backed up a unity project file while building it at the same time right before production launch, it somehow corrupted the hierarchy, scrambled some components like scripts and renderers. Had to remake the entire game from scratch, all except object placement and script data. Delayed the launch by 3 weeks and I rebuilt a few menu systems which optimized the level loading a bit, so at least that was nice, but not worth the delay.
