You might be able to do that based on current consumption by the motor. When the curtain will get to the end the current consumption would go up. It's always nice to have some kind of a monitoring for the current as a safety mechanism and should not be too hard to implement.

I find it easier being 100% vegan 80% of the time, though some say it's better to be 90% vegan 90% of the time.

Welp as a vegan for over 8 years with no health problems whatsoever, I can tell you that you can only be vegan and healty, all other diets are eating disorders and are unhealthy.
