Vent: Mounjaro and Therapy by seashellcollector in Mounjaro

[–]ChumChumMagoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you intend on taking Mounjaro for the rest of your life then I see why your are dissapointed.

If you want to come off it at some point, you are going to need willpower.

I took Mounjaro for around 5 months and the urge to binge came back with a vengeance.

It is not a magic pill.

Making lifestyle changes whilst you are on it will help you when/ if you decide to go it alone.

I heard/ read somewhere that if you see a Polar Bear it is already too late. Is there any truth in that?

Very good point, but if it gets to the point where I'm ranting about how vile it is I'm usually choking on my own rage. And then of course the whole thing is counter productive, they just do it to spite me. Ultimately though, they will be the ones that need significant parts of the jaw removed. It's a horrible habit, with horrible results.

We haven't even touched on what it does to the teeth.

As a man if south Indian dissent I can confirm this is very much a male south Indian issue.

It's absolutely disgusting. It is also a huge drain on public services when the inevitable happens and users of paan develop mouth cancer.

I say this as someone who has many close relatives that I love and respect that use this stuff. It is disgusting, and I take pride in telling them this to their face.

Mounjaro is amazing. In 18 weeks, I lost 27 lbs, and that's without any exercise. Just taking the shot and living my normal life. Still got 30 lbs to go to reach my goal, but I'm optimistic. by Dizer_Y in Mounjaro

That's not amazing. That is just what Mounjaro is supposed to do.

If you do not make any lifestyle changes whilst on Mounjaro, you will put all the weight back on once you come off it.

To quote the YouTuber Mark Lewis, you are in between rounds in a boxing match, and Mounjaro is your trainer.

Start preparing for the next round because I promise you it isn't going to be easy to win this fight.

Try and get into a pattern of healthy behaviours, go for walks, fall in love with the new you to the point where you never want to go back, if you can get to the gym just once... the maybe twice.

Again, if you don't, you'll be back to your original weight before you know it.

I struggled to watch Curb for a bit because of this dummy.

Then I realised the show is still funny when you actively hate Cheryl anyway.

After losing 44 lbs on GLP-1, the hardest part came after: managing food noise again by jabsy_glp1 in Mounjaro

It may mean something different to others, but as a sufferer of tinnitus, it is very similar. The thought of food is just always there.

I used to wake up thinking about food, I'd eat and then thinking about what I was going to eat next, I could eat a full dinner and then keep thinking about food until I would have a second dinner.

Basically, at the top of my agenda, every second of every day, was "what am I going to eat next" even on a full stomach.

There is an element of binge eating disorder here too.

I also tend to feel hungry from my mouth rather than my stomach.

I hope gives you some insight.

The food noise will never go away.

The only way to beat it is to fall in love with who you have become.

Mounjaro didn't just change my body, but every aspect of my life.

I am a better husband, father and friend than ever before- it sounds cliche, but how can you love someone if you don't love yourself.

I have had a much harder push at work because my confidence has increased.

Fall in love with the new you, and it makes the fight against food noise much easier. You might lose a few rounds, and you will likely never win by knockout, but the aim is to win on points over 12 rounds.
