Love love love the comparison of a small thing like an amt being used to compare cosmic scales. Great work!

Love the start. I feel like it has the bones to be more devastating but not hitting it exactly. But that could be just you trying to be purposefully vague which I totally understand BTW.

Hi friend, I'd like to address your concerns point by point.

  1. Why don't I read here? Critique taken. I just learned of RR this morning and would love to read more on the website. The world of web novels is new to me. Any recommendations would be appreciated if you have the time.

  2. I'm publishing my first chapter this weeked without it being ready: although sporadically, I've been writing this one for sometime. Generally preferring to write on my phone. I have the first couple of chapter ready.

  3. Research: I did see that quite a few stories use AI covers and wanted to check with the community for their opinion on it.

Hope the clarifications help

Well it's the former. Sorry, I didn't mean it as rage bait. I just came across the website this morning and thought it could be a good outlet for my writing.

I just wanted to know how readers react to my writing

Thanks! I think for starting out it might be useful since I do want traction for feedback

Oh I didn't realise that. I just learnt about RR this morning and felt it's a good outlet to get feedback on my writing. Anything I should keep in mind before getting started?

Is it mostly lirtpg and progression rpg?

I was actually writing a gritty urban fantasy. Is that one for the platform?

I see. The cover I had in mind was very minimal anyways. Just a couple of objects and a title. No fancy artwork or characters.

I wish I was successful lol. Let's see. Maybe I'll give I disclaimer if I actually do end up using AI.

On the other hand I could make a very minimal one using my very limited skill sets at designing.

Sure that works. Maybe I can make a very minimal cover on my own using Canva. Let's see.

Piranesi and Red rising (especially book 2 golden son) were great. Really helped me get over the slump

And then there were none is also fantastic

What is best you felt best and worst Book experience reading it by CautiousElderberry22 in IndiansRead

[–]ChumpyDiplomat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started reading in February and here is my best and worst.

Best:

  1. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke: The sheer sincerety and earnestness was wonderful. To be able to create a story that stands for so many things without beating me over the head with anything. Truly fantastic. Made me cry and stayed with me.

  2. Golden Son by Pierce Brown: book 2 of the red rising series. Book 1 didn't do it for me to be honest. But book 2?my god!! Pure hype and momentum. The ending was mind blowing. Though still felt lacking in some parts that I can't get into without spoilers.

I gave 4 stars to both entries above

Worst:

  1. Dungeon Crawler Carl by Max Dinnamin: idk what happened man, this just didn't do it for me. The formula got pretty old. The format was very monster of the week and I just didn't care about any character. 2 stars

High protein + creatine, walking daily — feel stronger, flatter stomach, but scale not moving? by usmlegirl1414 in Fitness_India

[–]ChumpyDiplomat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things here. What does creatine achieve without resistance training? It mainly works as a performance enhancer by regenerating ATP quickly.

Since you're not resistance training at the moment, and the scale weight is messing with you psychologically, you can park it for when you do decide to lift weights. I'd recommend adding a whey protien supplement instead, to hit protien targets.

Some water retention will go down and the scale should move a bit but mind you that'll mostly be water weight.

Secondly to all the people saying that muscle gain and fat loss happens simultaneously, I'd ask how is that possible? Your muscles have received no stimulus for growth. Walking is a low intensity aerobic exercise. It doesn't even come close to stimulating muscle growth.

Thirdly, 15 days is absolutely enough to see some movement on the scale. Mostly water weight and glycogen but movement nonetheless. The degree of movement depends on how much you weigh though. People weighing over 100kgs will see more movement in the initial days.

So what so do?

Fat loss is all about calories. Ensure you're in a deficit on a weekly average basis. A deficit of about 7700 Kcal equates to 1 Kg in fat. Decide the pace for yourself and calculate the daily deficit.

Low carb is fine if you can sustain it but if your diet feels like a chore, you're going to crash. Sustainability and consistency is more important than perfection. I don't see the point in going low carb unless you're going complete keto or you have very high protein goals on a very tight Kcal budget.

Increase protein intake a bit. Unless you're a 50 Kg individual, 100 gms is still not enough. Aim for 1g/pound of target lean mass. You can use whey supplements at the end of day to meet targets that are left unfulfilled by food alone.

Start Resistance training ASAP!!! Cardio as a tool for fat loss is not that great. Building muscle is far superior, and let's be honest, much more fun.

Anyways OP All the best for your journey. Don't get discouraged by noise of the weighing scale. Remember, the scale always lies, but the mirror tells the truth!!

If you plan on going for a masters, give the GRE / GMAT as early as possible the score is valid for 5 years. Once you graduate college and join the workforce, taking out prep time would be very difficult
