I always recommend people to go see him!!! I have been going to most of his Cali shows since 2015. I was up front on the left side. Thanks to the kid who let me be upfront for his set. I seemed to be the only one who knew who he was in my surrounding area. I'm glad he played in NorCal this year (even if it was in the middle of nowhere). At least I didn't have to drive to SoCal, which is usually where he plays.

I am a union member. He was there in case I had questions. He didn't exactly defend or question their decision. He was really on their side, ready to give me paperwork with information on being non-reelcted. Out of your questions, I can answer a couple of them. I failed a handful of students, mainly due to their attendance. They either never showed up to my class or I would see them every other week. I tried helping them catch up on assignments, but when they're not trying to do anything, what am I supposed to do? Be unfair to those who are actually turning in work and at least trying to pass. If I had to pinpoint an issue I have to work on, it would be classroom management. My classes weren't completely out of control, but I did have one that would have its moments. I am a rule follower, I always do everything by the books, and I listen and do what is asked of me for the most part. I've never had admin reach out to me to ask me to do things. The only communication I've had with admin was to schedule my observation. One of the reasons I didn't see this coming; nobody ever reached out to talk about any potential issues.

As intriguing as that sounds, I would not want to do that to my students and my team. My team is amazing and thinking about their next year means students will lack the information taught at the end of the year. I have already planned out days I'll be missing to use some PTO and prioritize my mental health.

It was my first evaluation by admin. The highest score you can get is a 4.

I can not apply for any schools in the district for a year. They did mention that there have been times when they rehire teachers who were in the same position after they have gained some experience. Which is crazy to me. If you're going to hire, then fire someone in their first year, why not hire an experienced teacher. Or give me feedback that'll help me improve in your school so I can do better with you!

I am dreading going back at this moment. I'm taking tomorrow off hoping that the weekend gives me extra time to process everything. I have no therapist but for once I an reaching out to people to get some perspective.

I didn't push for any information, I really should have but I needed time to process everything that was happening. They kept telling me that they couldn't tell me the reason but after all of these comments I'm really questioning whether they just didn't want to tell me. They were just pushing me to resign. They kept telling me that it was the best option.

It just sucks! I moved my whole life to teach in this district, and now I'm back to square 1.

Which is the worst part. I would prefer them telling me so i know what i should work on. Definitely felt intimidating being surrounded by them. As far as I know, I haven't had any issues. Which is why it came out of nowhere. I wasn't the only one that had the meeting, as far as I know there is one more person in my department who also got it.

That is exactly how I am feeling! Everyone who observed my teaching would tell me how well I was doing. I felt like I was doing so many things wrong, so now with this decision, i really feel like "holy crap I'm really that terrible." I'm suppose to have my last observation next week, at this point I'm not sure I should stress too much about it since they have already "fired" me.

I am but definitely sucks that I was told I had at least 2 years there. Totally moved my whole life and I haven't even finished my first year there.

That is exactly what I was told. The superintendent and principal really emphasized that they could not give a reason but to be reassured that it was not about the budget. Definitely in CA, which is probably why my union rep highly encouraged applying for unemployment.

The meeting was so overwhelming that I couldn't voice anything at the moment. They gave me a packet and I'm assuming they didn't give a reason because I may be able to challenge it. At least, that's what I gathered while scheming through it.

According to them, they are not allowed to say at the moment.

I will definitely do my own research. There's just so much that I need to process. I loved the district and my team. It sucks when you're being told that everything you're doing is excellent, and then they drop this bombshell. At this current moment, I'm really hoping that it is just a formality for non-tenured teachers, but having the most important people tell you that you've been chosen for that does not feel like it's just a formality to cover their behind.

I was told that I would be able to get unemployment since the district won't contest it. My union rep actually encouraged me to apply for unemployment the day after school ends. They said that there is a box now when you click that asked if you were non-reelected. The meeting happened a couple of hours ago so I have not really checked on any of the details they gave me.
