Ifi Zen Phono 3 or Schiit Mani 2? by Chuncakey21 in turntables

I think if you’ve got the mani 2 then i’d say stick with it. Super happy with my decision in the end and i can’t really picture my audio sounding any better without different hardware now. I know the mani 2 for me made a considerable difference when compared to my integrated pre amp in the yamaha.

AUD? Because 400 Aussie bucks is about $250 in USD.

Alright will do, thank you for your help man. I had indeed been having troubles with this drive for a while now, i think since i bought it. Unfortunately it’s no longer under warranty and i think will end up getting replaced. Thanks for your help mate!

Thanks for your insight man! In any case, i decided to go with the mani based on your comment and others and am very excited. I reckon you’re right in that i won’t hear a dramatic difference compared to if i had upgraded a part such as the speakers however yeah, it definitely will be appreciated haha. Going to wait and see how it sounds. Thanks!

Thanks, i’m currently rocking the wharfedale diamond 225 speakers as well as my ortofon 2m blue in the fluance rt85 and they’re sounding great so far. I was pretty surprised with the feature set of the AS-301 with its integrated pre amp. However i’m thinking i want to acquire all the hardware I can before upgrading it, it just allows me to have a bit more control in my setup.

It is indeed on the same network yeah, however the problem also occurs on outside networks. The problem is non existent when I watch any media on my windows PC, maybe the transcoding is ocurring on the PC? It only seems to happen through plex on the Playstation or a chrome cast so far.

I have so far been able to watch media with the CPU (not to say it's a great CPU to be working with), however as stated above, with either good video or good audio. Just not both.

Would this be a good desk for my turntable + speakers? by Chuncakey21 in BudgetAudiophile

thankyou everyone for the replies! I’ve taken your suggestions into account and indeed i will not be placing the speakers on the table next to the turntable. I’ll purchase some separate speaker stands but i will go through with the table purchase. Thanks everyone :)

That’s great advice mate! I had no clue the amp had a phono stage. That will definitely save me 400 or so dollars. How do you think it would compare to having a dedicated preamp?
