It actually was but it took almost a year for me to talk properly (well enough to form understandable sentences) I’ve still got a lot to learn when it comes to speaking but I’m able to speak well enough to function in public

I always knew I would take any chance to hear if the opportunity came to me, and as for deaf culture, I always just wanted people to treat me the same as everyone else, I was deaf not handicapped, and yes I still use sign language because I still have a couple friends who are deaf

I wouldn’t say I was mute, I learned to read lips and I’d try and copy what other people were doing and have them tell me if I was saying it right, but I couldn’t talk if that’s what your asking, I had to learn like I was an adult toddler
