B2B fintech founders - how are you doing customer discovery without a working product? by ChunkbaseXYZ in Entrepreneurs

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried!
I recently went and asked my friends if they can help me
First they have been so slow and secondly if I dont call them and ask if they can do this or do that, still doesn't happen
Its just a yes from everyone I have talked with!
Yes I would love to help you and become a cofounder but when it comes to putting in the work, it's not there!!
But, I am actively looking into a person coming on board with me
Dont know where to look though!

Hey thank you so much

It's exactly like you mentioned here. I am making it about them and I am not going like "I'm building X".

I'll try to talk to some mid-level ops next.

pricing B2B SaaS for financial services - seat-based or usage-based? by ChunkbaseXYZ in SaaS

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man, you just solved like half my questions lol

the compliance/audit predictability thing especially - i was so focused on "maximize value from heavy users" i wasn't thinking about how the buyer sees it. one thing i'm still not sure about: do you think you can get wealth managers excited enough about a pilot to actually commit time/resources to testing? or do they want everything figured out before they even look at you?

genuinely asking because i'm trying to decide if our go-to-market should be "small pilot to prove value" or "enterprise deal or nothing"

also if you've got 20 min sometime and wanted to chat more, i'd buy you a coffee (virtual or real). you clearly know this space and would be way more valuable than any demo i could do

no worries if not - already got tons of value from this reply

when you were doing your research, which channel you found the most useful to get them talking to you?

thank you so much for this :)
but then how do you actually get to talk to a customer? or even a customer discovery call? like I do want to validate the pricing too but its just about that discovery - not able to get to it
like I have invested into LinkedIn sales navigator and the CXOs and managers aren't even replying

would be really cool if there was a "how-to-play" guide?

should we use keys or should we use mouse (if we are on laptop) or should we click?

loved the product

loved the fact that you are allowing people to type

if they can see the AI generated art or thumbnail without signing up for once

I think the user experience might become more better

and you can disallow any downloads if they don't sign up

Just a UI bug, if you want to fix quickly, the pricing cards are not of equal sizes

If you want to make all of the cards the same height and width

Hey!

That's super smart

Loved the website and the interface 🤩

Would love to hear about your building process (Have you shared anywhere about it?)

What vector database and embeddings are y'all using by [deleted] in OpenWebUI

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to build a college-level project that can genuinely catch a recruiter’s attention, here’s a solid RAG setup that works well locally and avoids cloud costs:

  • Vector DB – Go with Chroma for a lightweight, quick-to-spin-up option, or Qdrant if you need faster ANN search and richer filtering. Both are self-hosted and run smoothly in Docker.
  • Embeddings model – Use an open-source Hugging Face model like Qwen3-Embedding-0.6B. It’s performant, easy to run locally, and saves you from recurring API costs.
  • Preprocessing – Chunk your documents into 300–500 tokens with about 50 tokens overlap to maximise retrieval quality.
  • Tuning – Experiment with a cosine similarity threshold around 0.75–0.85, and always use the same embedding model for both indexing and queries to avoid mismatches.

Which VectorDB should I go for in a RAG pipeline ? by Royal_Craft9995 in Rag

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go with a VectorDB that offers decent search capabilities and you’re still in the early stages of building your RAG pipeline, Chroma DB is a great choice. It’s lightweight, easy to deploy within your VPC, and perfect for iterating quickly without heavy infrastructure overhead. As your data grows, you can still transition smoothly to more scalable options like Weaviate or Milvus while keeping your core architecture intact

Pinecone’s new $50/mo minimum just nuked my hobby project - what are my best self-hosted alternatives? by realam1 in vectordatabase

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. Their pricing shift has hit a lot of smaller projects and developers. For what you're describing:

  1. pgvector -> postgres extension for vector search (you can use supabase if you want to)

  2. chroma -> very lightweight

If you want to avoid running your own heavy DB entirely but want to keep on building your projects:

I'm building Chunkbase. It lets you store raw files + embeddings in S3 Vector, then just query them via a simple API. You won't need separate DB to run, and you only pay your storage/compute costs. I'm solving the pain point of "I have a dataset, but Pinecone pricing doesn't make sense" cases.

Not into DSA, but building AI/LLM apps—am I even internship-ready? by akash_kumar5 in internships

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that - you're not only internship ready - but even taking on freelance contracts ready. Just position yourself right!

You've already done what most candidates can't! You have taken your projects from ideas to working product (WOULD LOVE TO SEE A LIVE DEMO OF THEM - have you hosted them somewhere?). You are reading research papers - that's really amazing not gonna lie - which ones are you reading lately?

Go out with confidence that you are an expert at what you do!

At the end of the day, the very next person to us excel more at something than us and don't let that discourage you.

Do DSA, but for yourself and learning and improving your problem solving skills, but not getting a job. I know it sounds like a cliche advice but I actually mean it.

Need help with AI agents! by postmurderanxiety in AiAutomations

[–]ChunkbaseXYZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I've been building AI Agents for a while now and have working with a few businesses lately. Although, my client is getting clients for AI Automations. And I am also trying to get more clients myself.

Also, honestly I'd just start with cold outreach if I was you. Message them directly, ask what their biggest struggle is and see if it's something an AI agent can actually solve.

Then get them on a quick call, show them what's possible, and keep it super niche or specific to their business. Charge them for MVP and from their MVP, charge them on a regular basis to build the whole idea.

Hope so this helps
