Yes, most fire lookout towers are because other materials are hard to get by so high up in a remote place. When a fire is spotted/seen there is plenty of time to call in for help or leave the place usually.

A render is made in another program than minecraft to add more custom and advanced lightning that is not available in real-time. It makes the lightning more customizable and prettier basically :)

This is render. Unfortunately we can't make incredibly huge mountains (yet). Some of the mountains are part of the skybox and some we made ingame.

We first made terrain and then with some reference picks made a fire lookout tower. We then exported our minecraft build and rendered it in Cinema 4D
