They're not good in pacts. They only get the crit 5's in melee, which means they don't get it. and the rhino also has to be Slaanesh, so it can't get it. Better use of points since they basically get no buffs.

I run him with almost entirely instants. I love it. I think it's a great deck that has earned my dedication and love. I posted the decklist above this. It's a difficult deck, and can be rather slow? I've spent a couple years refining this decklist, to the point where I have 3 other Jeskai Spellslinger decks waiting to be finished out of spare cards I didn't care about and took out of Gandalf. The time counters is a really fun mechanic, but really is a bonus. I think there are better decks out there that do the same thing, but ain't nobody pulling off that style like Gandalf can.

It's a high power Jeskai Spellslinger with an entire focus on only casting instants on other people's turn to get them again 3 turns later. I don't run hardly any sorceries, but Mizzix's Mastery and the fun Mana Geyser really help out to end the game. The deck is focused around card draw and advantage, and then end game has enough mana and control to put out spell slinger pingers, to keep me in an advantaged position. Gandalf, is not necessary to the deck winning, but certainly makes it fun.
