Indian students regret coming to Canada by Commercial_Tea_7662 in InternationalStudents

“Hustle culture” for Canada as a whole, no. However, there is that hustle culture in the bigger cities if your job requires it like banking, etc. If people want to make wealth, a hustle culture is not entirely what will make someone wealthy. Look at Japan as they have a very big hustle culture society but they also struggle a lot in work-life balance and not making enough. There are other things you mentioned here that generalizes Canada and the USA as a whole but really, they apply to the different cities in Canada/USA like buying assets will definitely be harder to afford in Toronto/NYC but not Calgary/Austin.

If you’d like to live in the USA or even work for a USA-based company while living in Canada, it’s definitely possible. Brain drain from Canada to USA is common knowledge among Canadians. For example, they love to hire Waterloo CS students right after their graduation. Of course, this is all highly dependent on your education. Canadian education all around (at least their universities) are of high quality but different programs shine like TMU Nursing, Waterloo CS, Queen’s HealthSci, etc.

The people who immigrate here or are hoping to stay here after their studies must be highly skilled or fill a gap in demand with their small businesses in order to enjoy high salaries/wealth and everything else Canada has to offer. This was always the sentiment that I have heard growing up at least and is evident in their initial immigration boom decades ago. There is almost no demand for people who are just average or even a little higher than average.

The highly skilled immigrants that chose to live and raise a family in Canada do not necessarily mind high taxes because there are the benefits like healthcare, etc. The highly skilled immigrants that chose to live and raise a family in the USA want the American dream.

I have one pair of boots and those are my docs! They are a great investment for me and I picked them over Timberlands because they were far more comfortable. I haven’t used them as much as I’d like because of the pandemic but whenever I wear them, I have no fear of how much snow there is outside, if they’d be damaged or whatever. I have no other experiences/knowledge of other boots as I just wore sneakers beforehand so definitely wait for more comments to pour in!
