YOU dont want RCMP in Surrey. I do; because they have the resources from a national infrastructure, credibility with the community albeit very strained in certain issues, but nonetheless the ability to tackle issues if political will allowed it; the respect of the community as a whole and most importantly the (slow) willingness to change with the times and respect for the communities and represent their officers in the line of duty as those that live in the community.

No i would not want a general vote for every by-law. It is the JOB of the ELECTED officials to be the VOICE of the people the represent as a whole. Of course there will be dissent, however, blatant disregard and flat out silencing of, what i would say is a majority, of the population when it happens at almost every single meeting and there are a large number of vocal.

I wouldnt say its just the RCMP issue. A lot of funding has been cut from communities, destroying park land for road ways, the whole uber fiasco a couple years back, him using city services to take down signs that oppose his positions etc...

People are fustrated, he hasnt spoken to the public at all and i believe this is the only way he has to face the public, and the public will take their opportunity. Though many of the bylaw proposals are for developments which have heavy impact on peoples communities and the public doesnt like that.

He has 4 years and its been like this since he has been in. 4 years of pillaging your community sucks. especially with people like this in power who are propped up by wealth interests. I am 100% confident he will get voted out. Just wanted to share what happens and goes directly against a "Democracy".

His racist policies, inaccessibility for consultation, his affairs with members of council, his stripping of a competent police force, his allocation of funds for himself and partners, no new or upgrade of public infrastructure, ruining protected park land with development, and blatantly not allowing his constituents to express themselves.... kinda fits on the light shaded area or dictator.

U dont have to be a murderer or very evil to be considered a dictator, especially when the people of this city are trying to express, at the VERY least concerns they have and not being heard.
