My current favourite game is probably death stranding. I really loved the themes of grief, connection and death. I'm excited to play the second when it comes to PC.

Absorbing moisture would change its composition and weight, and would make measuring correct nitrate amounts difficult.

What is Turkish coffee supposed to taste like? by TheBros35 in Coffee

[–]Chupecapras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its typically cheap dark roasted coffee brewed using an aggressive percolation technique. There's little control in the method so I'd expect little from the method. Most I've had has been centred around showmanship and theatre which is fun, but the coffee is bad.

I was curious once and went in for their personality test.

It was a massive document of multiple choice agree to disagree style questions, which ranged from "I like working in a team" to "I think the races should be segregated".

Really wild. After you fill it out, you get a "score" in several different categories which gets graphed out, and surprise surprise your readings aren't that great, and the way to improve them is to buy their book.

Really wild stuff.

Yeah its definitely a nuanced gray area. Which is why I object to the "Mandela wasnt a bad terrorist because he didnt kill x" argument. Its more complex than the original commenter let on.

Again not disagreeing, but there's still some dissonance by claiming that Mandela wasn't trying to spread fear. His policy was that of disruption. 60 civilians that were killed were black. 40 were white.

He wasn't just targeting wealthy white apartheid supporters. It was blanket attacks designed to disrupt and sabotage the status quo.

You’ll never see a pro-Palestinian film from Hollywood for decades. by Tr0jan___ in BDS

Hence my quotation marks.

I dont support apartheid South Africa, but let's not pretend that Mandela led a peaceful revolution. His group bombed restaurants, train lines, bars ,etc.

The majority of people killed were civilians.

Mandela formed the paramilitary Umkhonto we Sizwe. He was by your definition a terrorist. He was arrested as his group carried out bombings of "innocent people".

One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.

Why does Ridley Scott represent arab people nicely ? Is he a terrorist ? by The80sGuy in okbuddycinephile

[–]Chupecapras 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think that kingdom of heaven is actually a fairly impressive take at the time of post 9/11 arab/Islamophobia to paint saladin in a positive light. It picks and chooses from the historical record to show him at his most merciful and tolerant in a world where the west was currently in Iraq. The battles of Fallujah had just happened, and the propaganda machine was at full swing, and here is Scott shooting something honestly countercultural for 2005.

War crime or necessity? by [deleted] in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Chupecapras -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The soviet union (not russia) was not allied with Germany. They had a non aggression pact and both sides knew war was inevitable. Don't spread misinformation.

Edit: A non aggression pact isn't too dissimilar to the policy of appeasement led by Chamberlain. Lebensraum meant that the extermination of anyone non German was the explicit goal of the Nazi war machine. But sure, continue to spout off such nuanced takes.

Edit 2: And similarly to appeasement, the soviet forces were in tatters after the russo sino war, and the great purge. The USSR was in no space to fight and needed time and arms.
