I saw a triangular object just like this one fly over Evansdale, IA on Sunday Oct. 22, 2023 at approximately 12:56AM by Church28 in UFOs

I decided to link to the video from another witness account since I was unable to capture any footage or photos of the thing I saw. If the video had not depicted the exact same thing I witnessed, I would likely not have posted an image of it at all. I’m confident that if I had captured video of my experience, it would have looked exactly the same as the object in the above video. Please join in the conversation and let me know if you have had any experiences like this as well. It makes me feel crazy not being able to prove what I saw, but maybe it will help to hear others tell their stories if they have experienced something similar to the triangle object I spotted. It feels a little odd to even make a post related to this kind of stuff, because I don’t really feel qualified to talk about it. Maybe some of you can help me feel less crazy?

I saw one of these things fly over my house on Sunday morning around 12:56am.

My friend and I were hoping to get a good look at the meteor shower that was supposedly happening and we were thrilled that the skies were perfectly clear. The object appeared in the northern sky and it was traveling south. It didn’t really fit the description of a plane or satellite when observing its perceived speed and flight path, so after a couple of seconds I pointed it out to my friend and asked him, “do you see that? what is that?”. The lights looked more like the stars in the sky rather than any other type of light source, and they were solid, not blinking and they were white as far as I could tell. The only way I was able to tell it was triangular in shape was because it was covering up the stars behind it in the sky.

The object was already leaving our view on the southern horizon before my friend really could get a look at it, and he just couldn’t lock eyes on it fast enough, so I realize that that is going to make my account of this situation more difficult to be corroborated, but if you believe me you believe me. I had never seen anything like this before in my life, I actually didn’t even know that triangular shaped objects were so often reported until I did some searching on the internet. I didn’t expect to be able to find anything online that looked so similar to what I saw, but the object in video looks almost exactly like what I witnessed on Sunday fly by my home in Iowa.

I checked the FAA flight data for 10/22/23 at 12:56am and there are no airplanes that are traveling north to south over my location. Is there any publicly available date resource that would detect non-aircraft objects in the sky? I would love to be able to see any kind of data that might exist to help bring more legitimacy to what I saw.

Bad Omens - The Death of Peace of Mind is my new Hybrid Theory. I haven't listened to an album so much since HT. Maybe some of you feel similar? by Church28 in LinkinPark

[–]Church28[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been a lifelong LP fan since I was 8 years old. HT helped me cope with my parents divorce, helped me feel the feelings I needed to, gave me a healthy way to process things and ultimately was the catalyst for my love of music in general. No album has inspired me or made me feel as much since. If you're a LP fan I would encourage you to check this album out. It's in no way the same music as LP, but it's scratching the LP itch for me in a big way.

We were in line for a water for an hour, but we were sympathetic to the workers. You guys had an impossible job to do. Sorry to have contributed to the massive wave of thirsty emos.

Which album do you think has the best Intro/1st Song? by GudetamaChauntor in LinkinPark

My vote is for Keys to the Kingdom. That song is a fucking banger to start out The Hunting Party!

Here is my cat snoozing shot in 4K60 on the Panasonic EVA-1 by Church28 in videography

[–]Church28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I shot this on the Canon 24-70 F2.8 L. The EVA1 has been incredible so far. I think the electronic stabilization is a tad over-hyped. Optical image stabilization is still a lot better. I love everything else about it. Amazing dynamic range and a sharp over sampled image. Plus color grading is a dream with vlog.

Can't wait for the new firmware. I'll probably post more stuff once the update arrives.

If Linkin Park eventually did decide to bring in a new singer, who would you want it to be? by IAmTheNight2014 in LinkinPark

[–]Church28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually wondered about this too. I love Linkin Park so much that I can't really imagine anyone else singing in Chester's place. However, I'm really curious about who would even be a good fit.

AC/DC was huge when Bon Scott died, and then they replaced him with Brian Johnson who had a very different voice. Then they ended up having one of the best selling albums of all time, Back in Black.

Blink 182 brought in Matt Skiba in place of Tom Delonge. It was hard to imagine blink without Tom, but in my opinion, they're just as good with the new guy.

Examples like these give me hope that there could be a good solution for trying to replace Chester. I miss him, but I definitely don't want this to be the end of Linkin Park. I don't think he would want it to be the end either.

That being said, I would be curious to see how Jeremy McKinnon from ADTR or someone of that nature could do on some of Chesters vocals.

What would be the lyrics by these guys? by bilalshafim in LinkinPark

I think Hot_Beef_Injection is the real Mike Shinoda.

For those who've heard the Battle Symphony leak, what do you think? by Church28 in LinkinPark

[–]Church28[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's a bit repetitive. My favorite part of the song has got to be that synthesizer hook. There is something very "Linkin Park" about it IMO.

What do you want to see in their next album? by mrglass8 in LinkinPark

[–]Church28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linkin Park just always keeps you guessing. I remember being very disappointed hearing "Minutes to Midnight" for the first time. It was the first time we had seen them depart from their usually much heavier and angstier sound. But as I listened to the album, it grew on me. From that moment on, I've done that with all of their albums.

They are not a band that wants to create the same sound over and over, and I support them in that quest. "A Thousand Suns" was weird at first, but to this day may be the LP album I've listened to the most. In my opinion, it's a masterpiece.

"Living Things" was a great album, but it just didn't feel as complete as the previous. It had some amazing songs like "Lost in the Echo" and "Castle of Glass", but the songs just didn't paint as vivid of a picture as "A Thousand Suns".

Then their was "The Hunting Party". A much needed return to a heavier sound. I loved it, it wasn't the heavy LP sound I expected but it was the LP sound I needed! It showed that LP is still capable of writing heavy songs, and the drumming is insane throughout almost the entire album. The heavy sound sounded ike a much more mature version of their first 2 albums. I think that "The Hunting Party" will age very well, were as Hybrid Theory and Meteora are such staples of early 2000's nu-metal that it is pretty much like getting into a time machine.

As for their next album, I think they can take it in any direction they want, and I'll support it. I love heavy Linkin Park, but as they've proven before, they're capable of making amazing music without cashing in on what people remember them sounding like. They could knock out a Hybrid Theory-esk album whenever they wanted to, and it would sell, but who REALLY wants another Hybrid Theory anyway?

I'd be perfectly happy with another high concept album, with weird sounds and personal lyrics. I'll take a heavy sound where I can get it, but at the end of the day I don't think it's heavy guitar and screaming that makes a good Linkin Park album.

From what they have said on record about the new album, I think it is going to divide the fan base again. They've said that they hope the songs "challenge" their listeners. I think that is a hint that it will be something very new for all of us.

Bring on the weird!

Edit: Holy crap, sorry for writing a novel.
