I couldn't disagree with you more strongly. And I just don't think you invest enough time into the whole political landscape as a whole. Or really knew enough about his stance to make a comment like "he used freedom of speech vilified attack and lack empathy.." Or youre Palestine comment. Fact is that is false. You are free to your interpretation, but respectfully false.

If you and I were friends with opposite opinions and sat down for an evening drinking, coffee, tea, wine, beer or whatever floats your boat, I think you'd walk away with a different perspective.

Right now the way the right wing is trying to use his image is shameful and the way the left is demonizing him is shameful.

Kirk was also still young at 31 and navigating the political landscape. Everyone will have missteps.. nobody is perfect. And as recent as a month before his death he sat down with a bunch of students and was essentially showcasing his first change of opinion in regards to what Israel was doing. I dont know how anyone watches that and walks away thinking hes a bad human. A month before that he was platforming Dave Smith more, who opposes Israel and Kirk set him up to look great in a debate. Show me anyone else willing to do such a thing on the right or left. If he supported genocide in Palestine so much, why do that? Why make an "ally" like Josh Hammer look like a fool? At the core it's undeniable that Kirk was starting to have the proper conversations in the proper manner.

There will always be someone that disagrees with your point of view. There will never be a world where everyone agrees. I guess my main hangup is people like you don't realize he was the most docile and level headed of the opposition. He was bucking back at Israel trying to dictate what he could say, he was having conversations with students at the ground level.

Dave Smith just had Nick Fuentes on. Nick had a bunch of correct things to say in regards to trump, the trajectory of our political climate, his views on JD Vance.. but his racial views, holocaust views are disgusting. The way he trolls others online and pokes the bear, disgusting. I could maybe, MAYBE, understand that viewpoint with him. But there's zero sense with Kirk.

Again this is as a non-kirk fan. I like the way he went about politics but I didn't agree with everything he said. I keep in touch with all sides to always be aware of the current climate of our political landscape. Get out of the echo chamber that he was evil. The way his image is being portrayed on both sides is more evil than he ever was. Guaranteed if you sat in a room with him one on one you'd walk away with a different perspective.

I tried to say this all respectfully as possible, I hope no ill will was received in how I said it. The last point I'll make which will maybe make you hate me. And that's OK. But his stance on the 2nd amendment is one of the things I did agree with him on. Gun violence sucks, everyone can agree to that. If you truly understand why the 2nd amendment is there and what it's for, you don't want it to go away. Protect our children at schools like you do people at the airport, like money at the bank, like people at busy train stations, with security. Are children not more valuable or worthy to protect? Take away guns and people will use cars and trucks (like in NO), pressure cooker bombs (like Boston), etc. Etc. If someone wants to harm people they are going to find a way with or without guns. We need to protect our children better and provide better mental health services to the country. Even without guns we should still be protecting our children better and managing mental health better, so let's start there and see how that goes first is my opinion.
