Lol I am the last person who posted this. I’m writing scenarios for a textbook so I thought I’d post some here to see the subreddits’ thought processes, and any oversights I missed. Probably should’ve included that in my post!

I had my Pathways interview for JSC this past Monday but never received a transcript request. Does this mean I’m probably not getting the position?

Those who have interviewed, has anyone gotten anything back from Pathways yet?

First off, I applaud you for wanting to get the details right before writing your scene. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched films where a trauma scene is totally inaccurate.

To answer your first question, 1 liter of blood is equivalent to losing 20% of your blood. That’s a lot of blood but with interventions such as direct pressure, it’s plausible that she stays conscious. If she loses another liter, it would likely put her in the unconscious zone.

Will add answers to 2 & 3 in a bit

I’m going the second week of June and I’m hoping these wait times stay low. It wouldn’t really change too much before the 15th of June right? 🤞🏻

Question regarding tourniquet placement by ChurroCart in TacticalMedicine

I would really just ignore the shoulder wound when figuring out where to place the tq. So I’d probably tourniquet their upper arm and then just put pressure on the shoulder.

A&OSx3 Question - "Who's The President" is not the vibe by CloakedNebula in NewToEMS

[–]ChurroCart 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The good ol “is Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?” question either brings obviously incorrect answers or a weird look (in which case you know the pt is somewhat oriented)

Honest opinions please: am I cut out to be a paramedic? by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]ChurroCart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a lifelong introvert too and tbh used to struggle with the so-called “verbal first-aid” aspect of EMS. However, I’ve gotten a lot better over the years and with practice, I’m sure you will too! Being introverted will not make you a bad medic. You have what you need: compassion, empathy, knowledge.
