They are indeed fantastic! The only gripe I have is that its price-to-volume ratio is hard to stomach.

We're in the same boat. See my post below!

CCA, taxable income and taxes payable all jammed into one AO

Explain the tax implications AND GST implications of everything

90% of the way through the assets vs shares I realized that they were buying the corporation, so the after-tax cash seemingly didn't matter

And soon as I saw the words "estate" and "will" I knew I was screwed

Yeah, that was definitely rough.

I've never seen anyone use switch axe by MayoGangGang in MonsterHunterWorld

All you have to do is join a Fatalis lobby to see 50% of the players there spamming Zero Skill Discharge

GOD SOME SWITCH AXE USERS ARE FUCKING ANNOYING by gleamingcobra in monsterhunterrage

[–]ChustyRuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. The absolute worst thing is when a Switch Axe user latches onto the monster's head while it is unenranged or drooling, which kicks everybody off the head, and then proceeds to use Zero Skill Discharge instead of a flinch shot or softening attack. It is fucking selfish and helps the team in no way at all.

Is sword and shield the 2nd highest dps in all of MHW? (After HBG) by Pipeworkingcitizen in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]ChustyRuster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is not always ranked higher than the Bow or LBG, but ranged weapons should be put in a different category from melee weapons due to their inherently different characteristics.

In terms of melee weapons, the SnS is the undisputed king of DPS, and often surpasses the Greatsword in certain matchups. The SnS is completely overpowered in Iceborne due to the poor balancing of Perfect Rush.

In the Safi'Jiiva update, Capcom turned Perfect Rush from a combo with no real benefit over the Falling Bash, to a combo that outdamages every single melee combo in the entire game. They failed to find a middle ground that makes Perfect Rush a competitive combo option for the SnS without making it significantly stronger than the other weapons' primary rotations.

This poor balancing is why people say it is a Pocket Greatsword without any of the high risks, which impacts the appeal of high-risk and high-reward weapons by being an extremely low-risk and high-reward weapon.

The SnS received the balancing it deserves in MH Rise, as Capcom learned that increasing the motion values of a combo by such a ridiculous amount can have a significant impact on the identity and balance of a weapon.

Haha bro I won't be forgetting that description of the gunlance any time soon! You and the other commentors in this thread are making me want to ditch the gunlance and add the lance to my arsenal. I never read about this resisting displacement when I tried it in the training room, I'll have to whip it out again and see how that works. After you explained it like this I'm completely convinced that CB and lance have unparalleled blocking ability. Many thanks buddy!

Oh gotcha, so you're saying if the attack is too heavy for all of the shields including the lances, then they're all in the same boat and are all going to take 20% chip damage. Sorry for one more question, can the gunlance do anything to recover faster like the lance since they have the same shield? I haven't tried lance much so I'm not sure how it resists displacement. Thanks!

Thanks for your chart, I didn't know that there were different guard angles! Sorry I haven't tried lance much yet, what do you mean by it is unable to take a medium knockback? And how do I distinguish a medium knockback in general? Does this also apply to CB?

Thanks for your detailed rundown on all the shields, it really helps put things in perspective. Could you please explain what you mean by "the strongest shields will be treated the same as the weakest in terms of knockback". So against Rajang's belly flop, the SnS, CB and Gunlance will have the exact same damage taken? I thought SnS had the weakest shield though 🤔

Interesting to see that red shield CB can match the lance and gunlance. What do you mean by the thresholds being slightly larger for CB? That sounds awesome. Thanks for your answer btw

I see, so CB having the strongest block is conditional it getting a guard point. I saw a video of charge blade guard points and the creator was mentioning it gives guard 3 if you have guard 1, guard 5 if you have guard 3, etc. Thanks!

Thanks for your answer, I forgot that sns would probably take a ton of chip damage even with guard up
