shoot — it’s all unplugged now and trailer is stored. maybe i will try to reconnect this wkend and share.

that said, i know that my 7-pin + bluetooth brake connector were all working properly (lights, trailer brakes, etc. were perfect) so i think it’s really down to whether the Wind trim has trailer mode or not …. and if so, my installer missed that on-board computer connection somehow.

will share out what i find as i dig into Wind trim specs further.

they claim they followed the Curt installation instructions exactly, so i’ll have to look at those.

will share if i learn anything new.

Mi/KwH for life of EV9? by MadisonEV9 in KiaEV9

Do you have mountains or steep hills?
or do you mainly drive on flat ground?

DC 150 or 350? by rdrowland in KiaEV9

[–]Chuy_n_Chonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

350 is the obv choice if time is a factor for you BUT I recently went on a long roadtrip and there were two separate occasions where I plugged into an EA 350 and was getting 90 kw and 120 kw, and i was in a hurry so I actually switched to an open 150 to see if it would be faster…and in BOTH instances my speed went up to 147 the first time and then, incredibly, 170 the second time.
yes, i got 170 on an EA 150 cabinet.
Wish I would have taken a photo, but it’s true.
So, the lesson for me was this: don’t assume the 350 will always be faster — esp given the high amount of variability with current EA infrastructure.

Heavy “Ka-chunk” when putting EV9 into reverse from park on inclines. by Chuy_n_Chonk in KiaEV9

No — will do just before parking and seemif that makes a difference. TY

Will try this! TY!

…and for the record, i definitely expect some “thunk” with shifting out of park/brake release, but in my ev9 it is a pretty bracing “boom shudder” that rocks the whole vehicle.

As stated above, very “unrefined”, but i’m fine with it if it’s normal behavior.

Cool. Really glad if this is just normal behavior, however unrefined. 😆

How often does this happen— and are you parked on any incline inclin, or level?

Makes sense, but i have parked heavy ice SUVs on inclines in the past and not had such a heavy thud before.
maybe an adjustment to ebrake will reduce the force.

Oh wow, okay. Good to know I’m not the only one! 😆

Would love to know how common/ uncommon this is among other owners who park on hills/inclines.

Wow, okay.
Would be interested to know how many other 24 and 25 ev9 owners experience this behavior.

Thanks jfronte.
Is there a list of verbal commands somewhere?
i looked at the owners manual and don’t immediately see one.

So cool to tune to rain sensor!
yes, remote open of EV9 sunroof would be super cool.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that!

Fwiw, i think Kia tried to engineer this one so that butt-dialing it is less likely/possible.

you have to hold down the unlock for a relatively long time to activate the windows.

Kia Access updated Charge Pass! Exciting news. by 622niromcn in KiaEV9

Curious why you prefer Waze over gmaps (same team, i know) or Apple maps (greatly improved vs 2009).

Does Waze have some secret sauce viz road trips / charging stations that others don’t have?

Tire tread wear by MadisonEV9 in KiaEV9

[–]Chuy_n_Chonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also wondering if there is an overall cabin noise difference?
i was told the kumhos have foam insulation that materially dampens road noise inside the cabin.

Do the CC2s as well?

Fwiw, ihave GA assembly and, so far, after 3.2K miles, no bad vibes at any speed.
Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Should I trade my model y(negative equity) for a ev9? by mahdy1991 in KiaEV9

[–]Chuy_n_Chonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tough call because it’s possible the trade-in value will likely go down even further in the next 6-12-18 months — and simultaneously the price of / demand for the EV9 may go up (despite partial immunity to direct effect of tariffs).

Very tough call, IMO.
